Re: Sort of Humorous - Parte Seconda

These are really bad but than again, most puns and the like are really bad. 1) King Ozymandias of Assyria was running low on cash after years of war with the Hittites. His last great possession was the Star of the Euphrates, the most valuable diamond in the ancient world. Desperate, he went to Croe...

Re: Sort of Humorous - Parte Seconda

The Montana State Department of Fish and Wildlife is advising golfers to take extra precautions, and be on the alert for bears while playing on Gallatin, Helena, and Lewis and Clark National Forest’s golf courses. They advise golfers to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clot...

Re: How you feel about the impact of golf on the environment/ecology

There are many other recreational facilities that use natural resources while appearing natural, like ski areas and man-made lakes. Building golf courses in arid or desert areas seems obscene but if a community permits the construction, they have no one to blame than themselves when the water runs o...

Re: What did you shoot today?

My last tournament of the year was Thursday. Shot 79, which was nice, but I followed a familiar pattern. No birdies despite a number of good opportunities. Slow start with a bogey and a double. Too many guys with low scores so once again, a 7th or so finish out of the money. Net 71 was good but not ...

Re: What did you shoot today?

Well @bkuehn1952.2 you played better than I did. My rebuild with lessons is playing havoc with my game. Shot 98 at Windmill on Sunday. Found the driver on and that was the highlight. I have heard that it takes a minimum of 6 months to learn a new physical activity. Stick with it. There is light at ...

Re: What did you shoot today?

Finished 2nd low gross in the super Senior flight of the OECL tournament (Observer & Eccentric City of Livonia championship. I won last year but my nemesis, Bill Himm, got the better of me this year. He shot 71/76 and I did 79/76. Everyone else was 160+ and Himm pretty much won it on day 1. Trad...

Re: What did you shoot today?

I have not been playing well. The last couple rounds, however, saw me swinging well and just not scoring (81 and 81). I feel confident my decent ball striking will yield some good golf scores soon.

The “news” says 5.1 centered in Oxnard. What is a 5.1 like? Dishes fall out of cabinets? Cracks in concrete? Hope everything is okay.

Re: Talk about your weather thread

We have had a very temperate summer. Rarely in the high 80’s, maybe one or two days hit 90. June was dry but we have had a lot of rain in July and August. We have run the AC maybe 2-3 days. I think the smoke from our northern neighbors has reflected the sunlight and the result is a cooler and damper...

Re: the Tiger thread

I am starting to move on from Tiger. If he announced he was playing some tournament in December, it would not move the excitement needle for me anymore. When he actually plays and is in contention on Sunday, maybe I might get re-Tigerized.
