Wednesday I bought me a 60* Cleveland RTX 2.0 wedge (my last wedge to upgrade this cycle) with a coupon for $25 off and double points from Dick's (also had a $10 voucher from points redeemed.) On Friday, I bought a Sun Mountain C130 cart bag that was on sale for $100 off, and had a $20 coupon for that. I almost pulled the trigger on that bag when it was $40 off, then $60 off. But it is a nice bag that will work nice with my push cart and on a cart.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

Hmmmm...I have always coveted Sun Mountain carry bags, especially after reading about a version with "2.5" in the name - for weighing 2.5 pounds. I may need to check out this stuff today, Cyber Monday.

Well, "Jet.com" has an electric canary yellow Sun Mountain 2.5 for about $150. Free shipping. Normal retail is $220 or so.

I am not sure I can get used to the yellow color. Plus I am pretty sure I have never paid more than $75 for a golf bag. Social Security can only be stretched so far. :problem:

I made the plunge. Bought it from Jet. Apparently Walmart bought Jet. The bag is dark hunter green ... with no logos of any kind. Sort of strange but it fits with my bland personality. Electric yellow just was not going to work. The bag costs twice what I typically spend so looks like I will be skipping a few meals and buying Costco Light Beer. :(

I want to play too. I got new shoes recently, Footjoy Superlite. Best dang golf shoe I ever had. Feel like anything's possible in them  Footjoy knows their shit. It may not be the hippest brand out there but it is probably the best, am I right or am I wrong here DougE?

Can't say anything about other brands, but I can say Footjoy rocks! Only brand of golf shoe I have ever owned. They have been at this for a long time. No one does it better IMO. Being a traditionalist, I love their classic styles...and their long history in the game. I have three new pair of traditional-styled DryJoys Tour on my Christmas list. White with white crocodile saddle, white with navy croc and white with black croc. Have played 3 pairs of the same white with white lizard skin saddles the last 3 or 4 years. Absolute best shoes I have ever owned. Never felt a drop of water inside on the wettest of days. I also play their FJ Sports during the shorts-wearing season, but I like the traditional look of the DryJoys so much, my Sports only get 10-20 days of play or practice. I wear my DryJoys on average, over 180 days a year and usually get a full two years out of them. Most people would, and could, easily get many more years, but I tend to like them to look a little newer, so trade them in once I have gone through three or four sets of replacement spikes. Are there any other brands out there of which can be worn over 360 times and still be in decent shape? I doubt it.

And as far as I am concerned, though it may not be the "hippest" shoe brand out there, it is definitely the most respected shoe brand in golf. Hip goes in and out from year to year. Those brands often come and go. Footjoy has been the #1 brand on Tour for 60 years or more. My first pair of golf shoes were Footjoy. Never had a reason to switch to anything else.

:school So yes Beef, you are right.

I have a pair of dryjoys that moved with me from Florida (5 years ago) and they were a couple years old then. They are just now starting to break down enough where I'm thinking of replacing them.

I have a pair of Addidas that I use when walking, but they are terrible if it is wet or dewey out because the water just seeps right into my socks. Other than that I like them a lot more for walking.

I have started wearing spikeless Nike shoes, especially for walking courses. I found I was having blister problems when walking, usually over the areas where the spikes were. Also, I have some tendon issues with my feet, and the tennis shoe style tends to work better with those issues than the classic style golf shoe.

Yeah Matt! Those look sweet.

I was just saying today (again) that I'm "suppose" to be buying new irons for next year [those heads]... I still need to figure out what shaft.

Pity you can't get to Golfworks and test drive some of the shafts...you may be able to go to a local fitter and see what they're got.

Yup - the one closest to me closed down too. I do have a Golfers Warehouse that opened up near me a couple years ago... so I still have that.

Golf Galaxy is gone, Golfsmith is almost gone, Nike Golf equipment, gone. Yet legitimategolf.com and forum.legitimategolf.com live on. :fk I know this is a highly inapt comparison in that those are all high stakes, high capital, for-profit businesses and we are a barely hobby-scale entity that generates zero revenue, but it is still a feel-good story to me.

You should get some type of advertising money from Titleist just for allowing Doug on the site.

What grind do you recommend in my spin mill 6 for climbing steep hills to prevent muscle tears?

Why is that? GolfTec is only related to Golfsmith in renting space from their big stores. There are many standalone GolfTec locations too, and GolfTec is not in any financial trouble like Golfsmith is/was. For those Golfsmith stores that are closing that used to have a GolfTec studio inside, GolfTec is going to relocate them or continue renting the space from the new owners (Dick's Sporting Goods).
I'm gonna go low this time...
