I want to see you freed from the prison that is conventional grip application. All that taping and lubing, then when you want to re-grips, all that slicing and scraping and gunk cleaning etc. Breathing in toxic fumes. When I switched over to tapeless it was almost like a spiritual rebirth.

Doug, I'm sure you've got a compressor, why don't you just blow them on instead of using solvent etc like Beef suggested? If you want to wrap, you can use painters tape.

Yes, I have a compressor and I am thinking of trying the method again. I have tried it before, but it's tough to teach old dogs new tricks.

Also, I build up with tape on certain clubs, where a midsize grip is too large. Like driver. I use mid grips on shorter irons/wedges for more control, but like a little more space---for a little more swing speed---with fw and driver.

How many times we gotta tell you Doug. If you like your existing (tape) coverage, you can keep your coverage under the new method.

Only difference is you gotta use regular one-sided tape, you know the kind that normal people use. (i.e. people who aren't golfers or carpet installers)

Bought a brand new, never hit Mizuno JPX-EZ 5 wood for $150, to fill the gap between my 3 wood and 3 hybrid. Also picked up a Pure DTX grip to put on when it arrives.

I do carry a 3 wood, but I can hit that thing 250 and needed something to fill the gap between it and my 3 hybrid.

Bought a new Scotty Cameron Matador XL grip.

Changed from a regular size Pistolini grip to a midsize Matador last year and loved the feel of the added girth in my hands. Seemed to putt the short ones better. So decided to try an even larger circumference, something that feels a touch more secure in my hands.

I know no one cares about my new grip, but I just wanted to get the boards rolling on this cold Sunday before the week of winter weather pounds us. Now I'm going over to the Winter Support Group thread to look for ....well...er...some SUPPORT Godammit! :fk

This is my favorite thread - love when there's a new post. I'm going back to smaller putter grip again this season... back 'n forth, lol. This is like Christmas better than Christmas... my clubs come today! Better be in time, before the snow :cmon

If you get them before the snow, that just means you get to torture yourself by having new clubs and not getting to use them.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

They did arrive. They are god damn fucking beautiful clubs. Almost don't want to hit 'em.

Ya know, I never really got the "thin top line" (previously) mumbo jumbo but going from the super game improvement Nike shovels to these - I get it. They just look amazing (I'm a HUGE fan of black club heads).

& with the thin look - hopefully the PF factor plays to it... as in, they're forgiving. We'll see how I get on with 'em. The Friday indoor tee time is actually up in the air. I may play tomorrow or Friday - it may get cancelled. Hopin' to play tho just to hit 'em.

Lastly, headed to TGW today @ lunch to get the putter grip put on.

---I'll tryin' remember to take some pics tonight.

When I woke up today I felt like sticking it to the man, so I ordered up a couple of "MG Golf" gloves and a dozen of their "tour" balls. This is my first foray into alternative, non-big-name golf gear. Will post again once I receive the goods.
