Titleist, the one ball to rule them all. In your heart, you know it.

I play what I find but prefer to find Titleist Pro V1's
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!

I voted Srixon, but Pinnacle is a more accurate answer.

Bridgestone 330-RX for now, but I got to play a TaylorMade Tour Preferred X and what a difference it was for me! I might switch after I run out of the Bridgestone ones. The ProV1 spins too much for me and does not go very far... :(
I'm gonna go low this time...

Today conditions were crap. Wet and horrible wind. I used some pinnacles and a couple callaway warbirds. Don't suit me. They hold the line into the wind but that's all.

I've been slumming it lately too. I'm out of prov1's so I've been using a variety of found balls. Bridgestone b330s are nice. Who are we kidding--any ball used by a Pgatour pro is as good as any other ball used by comparable pro.

Don't know about you guys but around here Titleist NXT's practically grow on trees. Find 'em everywhere, particularly in the bushes off to the right. I've been using em. Let's face it when it comes to balls, you get what you pay for. Don't you OEM jerkoffs give me that jive talk about not being good enough to play a certain ball, or else too good to play a low-end ball. It's simple economics jack, you know and I know it. Anyways NXT's, these things suck compared to Prov1's and that's all there is to it. Not as long plus inferior feel off the short clubs. Maybe they fly a little bit straighter but that's it. Anyways resorting to a low spinning ball in a attempt to mitigate slices is weak. It's a slippery slope--before you know it you'll find yourself spreading vaseline on the driver face.

That said I happened to find a somewhat rare yellow NXT which I am now sort of fond of. Do they make yellow Prov1's? I'm gonna look for some. Think it's time for me to start using yellow balls, just to be different. Just to be an ass.

Well so much for that. No dice on the yellow prov1s. Bridgestone sells yellow b330's though. Tough decisions ahead.

One more thing, what the F is "NXT TOUR" supposed to mean? On what planet does a person who makes a living playing golf tournaments use an NXT ball. Is my question to you.

Titleist doesn't sell or advertise to professionals. They give pro's their balls for free. They are advertising to the morons...err I mean masses.

It goes back to my fishing days in FL. Fishing lures are designed to catch fishermen not fish.

Seriously check out the MG Golf balls. $20 a dozen and pretty much every bit as good as ProV's.

Interest is piqued. Did some snooping around and the buzz concerning these balls is considerable. I had never heard of this rogue "MG" outfit you speak of but if some indie manufacturer wants to stick it to the man I can totally dig it.

They have been around a while. My experiences with them have been when finding a random on the course. I once ended up pairing up with a guy who had a new "MG" golf glove on, so I asked him about the company and the balls I had found. Kinda a small outfit like Scor Wedges or something. The balls seemed about on the level of an older, refurbed ProV or maybe like the TM Project A or other current 3/4 piece Urethane covered balls. Similar to the Wilson Staff Tour FG.

IMHO YMMV

If you saw the thread on oob, Smithy was impressed with them. I know they are well received on MGS as well.

I voted Bridgestone, but really I prefer Callaway ... specifically the Callaway Diablo HX Tour. I think it's a fantastic ball and doesn't break the bank too much.

My next dozen I buy will be MG balls. I like the ProV1x's but buy them used and they are still more expensive than MG.

Based on Golfsmith's review on OOB I've committed to giving MG a try.

I've played the mg and like 'em but I still have 6 dozen Prov's to use. But will get a couple dozen for the hell of it. Try em guys. Good ball.

Hey I didn't really expect the responses to this post, was kind of just trying to test the Poll function... otherwise would have made more logical poll choice options.

Might have to edit this thread in some way.

I am really happy to see participation from all the, perhaps soon to be ex, oobers. The one that sort of fooled me was "JPJ". Who the heck is this "JPJ", I wondered. Especially since none of the posts seemed to insert "blimey" or invoke the name of the Queen. Frankly, I figured he/she must be one of Legitimatebeef's NYC buddies. Then the ancient synapses started firing up. "JPJ ...JPJ...JP J------? JP Jeffrey!! So I guess Legitimategolf's test Forum is now going global with JPJ and jev onboard. As LB would say, kewl!
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!
