Golf (skate) Board

Post by jfurr » Mon Apr 24, 2017 10:11 am

They had these at True Blue where we played our Monday round on my buddy trip. We didn't rent them but I wish we had.

They have these at my local course. Of course, I've never ridden one or even seen one yet. The couple times I tried asking staff about it, the answer was basically "Come back another time, you have to watch a instructional video, sign a waiver, etc, it's a whole hassle etc." :fuckall
Build a bridge and get over it.

It would be a bummer to rent one of these then be stuck behind a slow group anyway.

Of course, you could ride around and have some fun while you're waiting.

Unless you take the thing off some sweet jumps, I don't think there's that much fun to be had.

Last summer I stopped a guy who was using one. He said they were sort of hard to steer (requires leaning and sort of twisting the post on the front. Not a small turning radius. They are not as fast as a cart because of the inherent instability but it is not slow. It has a "dead man" switch in case you fall off but the guy said one can get used to riding without a great deal of coordination.

If one were allowed to zip up to the edge of greens and bunkers, I could see some utility. But the rules of usage apply like it is a cart.
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!

Yeah...these seem kind of stupid for me. I mean, the only real advantage to getting a cart, as far as I'm concerned, is the fact that I get to sit.
