Forum Software update
I know, I fucked shit up. Hopefully I'll get it back to normal. On the bright side, the board now recognizes emoji characters.

Just be glad it's still operational.

Can't read your first post because menus are dropping down all over the place. Can't really see much on the front page other than black and red circles.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

Same here. I'm sure Beef is on the case, if he's not out at Dyker swearing at everyone.

Re: Forum Software update
Okay everyone calm down. The situation is under control. We caught a little bit of a snag trying to transfer the layout; looks like we will have to manually re-configure the whole f'ing thing. By "we" I mean "me", hunting and pecking, haphazardly copying and re-naming files and shit. Considering that I am in charge of everything, it really is a minor miracle that this silly contraption even functions. Where the hell is Jfurr by the way? I hope he is alright.

Re: Forum Software update
If it still looks garbled, refresh until it looks all clean and blue. Everything's been reset. Back to the boring old OEM look. I'll switch back to our signature green motif as soon as I can.

I don't do that anymore now that my spirit has been crushed.

So how many times should we refresh?legitimatebeef wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2017 12:12 pmIf it still looks garbled, refresh until it looks all clean and blue. Everything's been reset. Back to the boring old OEM look. I'll switch back to our signature green motif as soon as I can.
I did it 2 or 3 times and it still looks jacked up.

Re: Forum Software update
I think it has something to do with caches, or cookies or some shit. Hey, I am trying to be honest here about my shitty computering skills. All the layout crap has been reset on the server, and I believe they will appear correctly on y'alls screens. Eventually. Hopefully.

Re: Forum Software update
Considering my ineptitude I am very glad that at least all the important stuff--like uh, everyone's accounts--made it through. I upgraded very impulsively late last night, just because I wanted the board to recognize stupid emoji characters. Layouts can always be tweaked, style sheets rebuilt and what not. If I somehow lost everyone's accounts however, that'd probably be the end. As it is we are like survivors huddled together clinging to flotsam in the open sea of information. We are this close to winding up like Tom Hanks and his stupid volleyball. Let us join hands and sing.

Re: Forum Software update
Wow, I made it to here. Not sure how, as I still can't see anything without open menus blocking everything, while the main page is still covered in the circle icons of read or unread posts. I need a transfusion or something. I think I'm gonna have a panic attack. I need my LegitimateGolf forums, quick. I guess I'll go take a nap now and hope when I awake it was all a bad dream and everything will be up and running perfectly. Bu-bye.
Re: Forum Software update
Works on Windows Explorer, not in Chrome. I hate Windows Explorer.
Re: Forum Software update
You got to clear out your cache for it to work. I use CCleaner to clean out my chrome to get it to work.

Re: Forum Software update
Ah, it was just a bad dream. Everything is back to normal now that I have awakened. (And restarted my laptop.)

Re: Forum Software update
Great. Now can we please get back to some golf talk? I'm going stir crazy here, with 20-something degree temps outside and no golf, and no one even talking about it here on this site. Am I going to have to re-publish my Christmas Golf Story again? Don't tempt me. Let's start talking golf. Please don't send me over to GolfWRX, The Sand Trap or MyGolfSpy, though I admit I was there getting my 2 cents in yesterday when LG went down. I needed a fix bad.

Re: Forum Software update
That's quite ok Dougmeister. I wouldn't expect any hardcore golf person to be able to subsist on this site alone. That would be inhumane.
Now that the board software has been updated, what do we think of it?
♀️Having the emoji support makes it feel like we have caught up with the modern world somewhat. Other than that the interface looks a tiny bit spruced up. It's very subtle though. I like the red notification alert, more visible. Something about the message quoting boxes looks nicer too though I'm not exactly sure what.
I have noticed that the search function works better now. Previously it was barely usable because it considered almost every word as "too common". I could type in "split my nutsack" and it would try to claim that the phrase was too common.

Any other feedback or comments on the new software, leave em here.

I am in Alabama, we had our snow last week, but it is snowing in my forum right now.
Are we about to have a snowball fight?

I love breaking the Christmas lights along the top of the page. I can't help myself. It's fun. I'm bored.

I thought we could use a bit more gayness in our world.

That's been keeping me busy since the lights went up! It's boring hanging out in here otherwise. Very few visitors. So have to keep myself entertained. Running along the row of lights with my cursor is addicting. It's like I can make a mess with all the broken bulbs and don't have to sweep it all up. So fun. And as Beef would say, so gay

Doug do you also try to do it quickly in 1 continuous line?
