Rain's gone. I'm golfing on Monday. Did you reorganize your closet with all your downtime Doug? I did, inspired by your photos. I even color coordinated.

Okay great. Now take it to the next level, like I do. (I know I'm gonna hear a lot of shit about this, but for the good of keeping this site active during the winter, what the hell.)

I put "ensembles" together, photograph them, and keep my favorite ones handy on my laptop so I remember some of the ways I can mix and match various pieces in my wardrobe. Sort of my golf wear filing system. I know, I'm over-the-top to most probably all of you, but, when I am obsessed with something I dive completely in. I've been this way my whole life. It's all or none with me.

Call me gay if you want, but let's not forget our fearless leader who is a fashion "model" now. :gay Besides, you California guys are used to gayness, right? ;)

Totally rad, dude. That ensemble is probably worth more than my car, which I sleep in at the beach, with my husband, who's a rainbow colored surfboard.

Hit 60 or 70 balls at the range today. Kinda rusty after 2 1/2 weeks, but not terrible. I think I am ready for an out-of-season round. Course is opening tomorrow at 10. I have an 11:40 tee time. Another one on Friday, when it is supposed to rain and be over 60 degrees. As long as the course is playable, I'll be out there in my FJ rain gear. Don't get many 60* days in January. Gotta play whenever possible, adverse conditions or not. Wind, rain, mud, cold, ice whatever. A little adversity isn't necessarily a bad thing. Dealing with the elements helps make your game better in the long run, in my opinion.

Plenty of snow melting going on here, and without any help from the sun or rain.

You know what, I am sick and tired of reporting on the stupid weather and whatever infinitesimal progress being made (or not being made) towards a crummy day or two of shitty-conditions, freeze-your-nuts-off :quotez golf :quotez.

We are getting moved on courses for Sunday since they have to cover the greens Saturday night.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

I just found out next Tuesday it's supposed to snow again. My mood instantly changed.

My 1/6 golf tournament got moved to 1/21, and there was another one scheduled for 1/20 already. If it snows again on Tuesday I'm going to be pretty fucking grumpy.
Keep it short stupid.

That makes me mad too. I was hoping to break the dry spell on Tuesday. :wah I'm more sad than mad really. Maybe I'll try to go anyways, get out there and meet the snowfall head on.

Snow is almost all cleaned up already. Now comes the pathetic waiting game. Low 30s is really pushing it to the extreme but I will do it. Believe me.

63° warm and muggy right now in NYC. One week ago it was below zero with windchills. That is an astounding leap.

And in a weird coincidence, one year ago today we also broke 60°. As I've expressed before, when it comes to global warming or whatever it's called, I think we are still dealing with a very tiny sample size.

That said if all this weirdness happens again next year, then fine I'll jump on board Al Gore's dopey train.

The climate is always changing, the only thing I disagree with is that the causes are manmade. Remember there was an ice age long before man could have done anything to warm everything up.

Cold here too. Tuesday forecast improving slightly. 36° and only a small chance of flurries. God willing it will be the first round in three weeks. :onfire

During our one day reprieve, I thought about giving it a go at the local City executive course. All the snow cover was mostly gone and they allow fools hardy golfers play year round on the "flat seven" that runs along the river and has few trees. We walked my home course, instead.

There were a number of areas where they had performed environmental burns. It is amazing how many golf balls are laying there. All scorched or melted, sadly. :bawl

Good to see the Kuehnster making his bi-monthly drop in. Listen, I just checked Ann Arbor's forecast. Your ship is coming in. Friday and Saturday. Get those clubs ready :fkno I mean it

Oh my gosh, next weekend is going to be out of control. For Doug the situation looks even better, he's probably got like 5-6 outfits already laid out.

They actually let us out with the temp about 30* this morning, but no frost due to the 20 mph winds out of the NW (19* wind chill.)

I have some potential ensemble considerations at the ready. Waiting to see if the weather guys are even slightly on target. Don't want to get my hopes up too early, only to have the rug pulled out from under me on Thursday.

Hitting balls at the range alleviates the withdrawal symptoms, but only a little bit. On the spectrum of experiences hitting balls at the range is closer to me in my living room in my underwear swinging an upside down club than it is to playing real golf.

So I guess that means we're looking pretty good here in MD at 13 degrees. You poor slobs.

(It was 68 degrees here on Friday. You got it right, Matt, fuck this shit! :fk )

We're at 5° with windchill over here. Not trying to one-up anybody. We are all in this mess together.

I am going to gay it up so hard :fkno later this week. Going to play twice, and it would take a massive effort to stop me. :onfire
