Even the CEO of the EURO TOUR is outraged

I saw a snippet the first week of the Champion's Tour season where Langer's caddie was standing behind him helping him to read the putt. Then the caddie reminded Langer that he needed to back away from the putt and start his routine over because of the new rule. Also interesting is that the rule is different for on the green than any shot off of the green. On the green, the caddie can stand behind helping to line up, until a stance is started to be taken, but a competitor can back away and restart in that case. Off the green, a stance cannot be started at all with a caddie helping to line up (think LPGA and all of the lining up of full shots caddies were doing.)
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

Sigh, if we only could afford to have a caddie all the time, I am willing to take a few penalty strokes now and again.

It did seem like a ticky tack call on the Euro player. And thanks to srogers13 bringing this up. Since I almost never have a caddie, I really had little idea about this change.
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!

In my round yesterday I was paired with 2 random guys. I didn't say anything and they left the flag in on every putt. The group in front of us also never took the pin out. I looked around the course a few times and saw more people on the green with the flag in than I saw on the green with the flag out.

I was a little surprised to be honest. I have a much lower expectation of people. It made me proud of the people playing golf yesterday (well as proud as I could be while duffing my way around the course).
Keep it short stupid.

How about TEAMMATES instead of Caddies, do the same rules apply to teammates?
That was more my concern, but if i don't have a caddie, does it matter?

This says Caddie or Partner.

Funny how all of sudden people can appear so different just by putting with the stupid flag out or in. Yesterday I noticed out the corner of my eye a group pulling out a flag from medium range and immediately I snorted to myself. Lameass poseurs. :lolz Not exactly sure why the reaction. But now that it is legal, pulling out seems so ceremonial and frivolous doesn't it.
Build a bridge and get over it.

My round on Sunday was very confusing. Should it be in or out - the guys I was with would usually ask and nice the greens were very fast and I always seemed to be above the hole I always said leave it in. But I refuse to have someone put it back in, even when I want it to be in. Maybe in the Spring when I'm posting again, but not now. Still the confusion is frustrating.

First hole was from the rough, 10th hole was basically a short pitch, 17th was a short putt after driving the green, 18th was a medium eagle putt on a par 5. And I almost took him yesterday to win, but too late now for the odds.

Wow, watching JT and Adam Scott, the flag is in, out in out in out.
Lucky they have caddies, or it wouldn't be time saving for anyone.
They take 2 mins to line up, so i guess its not slower. Just strange.

Surprised Scott putts with it in, especially with that wind.
