Shot 86. Bit of a rough round, a bit armsy with my swing most of the round. Will keep cracking at it.

Shot 92. Some shitty putting and spotty iron play, but I hit like 4 or 5 crisp half wedges/pitches with a divot and everything, so that's been a success. I'm no longer terrible at that portion of my game, which was really irksome.

Played the superbowl shamble yesterday.
It was a shamble alright, hitting fat, hitting thin, topping stuff... all round mess.

I shot a 94, with the best drive... so pretty terrible.
Last year, I shot 84 with a shamble.

At least we didn't get last like my Brother's team, we beat them by 14 strokes.
The format was best gross, and 2 best net... kind of hard to keep track of if we were doing good or not.

17 shots off the money, 30 shots off 1st.
We were 15th out of 25 team, not bad I guess.

91. Some blow up holes trashed what was a decent round for a while.

Considering the fun in the wind and the rain, it wasn’t terrible.
Front 9 were punched.

Highlight, birdie on 17, hit it 30-45 yards left on my 7 iron 140 yard shot and it blew it all the way back on line, 8 ft in front of the hole. Sunk it for birdie. If the other 38 putts looked that good it might have been a good day.

1 birdie, no pars, 13 bogeys, 2 double and 2 tripes.
94.
2+ net.

Walked nine late this afternoon. Snow due to start overnight. Could be 8 inches, so figured I'd try to play some holes before getting shut out for (possibly) days. It was about 35 degrees out there. And very soft. No distance. No roll. Even so, played okay. 4 pars, 5 bogeys. No poor shots. Good walk.

This is getting boring. Last six 18-hole scores posted to the Grint were 77, 78, 80, 80, 80, 81, respectively. Well, at least I'm consistent. But, based on that progression, evidently, I am getting worse.

None of it counts, though. Our season officially starts March 15. So, those are all considered out-of-season scores. The course has been totally saturated. Nearly all drives plug, few 3W shots roll more than a couple yards, it's been cold/raw and the wind has not helped. So, I've been playing from the shorter white tees. As a result, I'm not sure if I should be happy or disappointed with these scores.

It finally warmed up here end of last week but then on Saturday absolutely poured - at least an inch of rain. Everything was such mush I refused to go out on Sunday and went to the range instead, which was of course total mush. Probably two weekends away from the courses being in reasonable condition even with nice temps right now. Ready for the wet to end.

Ditto: the courses around here are super saturated. Some of them have areas where the whole fairway width is marked GUR (due to casual water). If you are in there, you drop on the side, in the rough, where it's a little better because of the lateral slope of the fairway! I have moved up to the white tees too, and it still feels pretty long at times. :(
I'm gonna go low this time...

Shot a tidy 78 today. Ball striking pretty good. The course is coming around to decent the last few days. Rolled greens and raked bunkers. 😳 unbelievable.
Tee it up!

Spring is coming here - highs in the 60's today with 70's coming and staying later this week. That said, very discouraged by yesterday's outing. About my worst round of the past 3 months with a sloppy 82. Drove the ball and hit long clubs okay, but irons were lousy and chipping was very very bad. Only A+ feature of my game was my cursing and use of the F word. Fortunately I was playing alone.

Felt so bad I went to play 9 more. Actually started hitting the ball better for a few holes but between my body and the wind my distances seem to be off. Was actually thinking about trying for a full 18 when two tired swings on the 8th and 9th holes led to DB and bogey after great drives so it was time to quit.

Weather is perfect here today but I can't play. May squeeze an hour in at the range.

Saturday was 77 degrees. We had our men's club... Par Point Invitational.

Interesting day.

Shot a net par, with the par point format, I got 3rd net mainly due to my 4 net eagles, earning 5 points each, although I did shot a quad, 2 triples, and 4 doubles. Ended up with 27 points. I walked out with $55 for 3rd, not bad. More for the solar panel fund lol.

I thought I might have a chance at a skin, but couldn't get a skin, only 2 net skins, and my final skin was pushed on the last group as they came in. If he didn't double pop on 16, I would have won a $100... but in the end, 2 guys got $145 each.

Interesting thing happened though... all of my gym workouts and time at the range had a side effect I didn't expect or want to be honest.
I found 20-30 yards on almost all of my clubs.
I was ending up in positions I never am on my drives... 6 holes I was 65 yards out ( of course I completely screwed up those good positions as mentioned in another post I suck under 100 yards )
So i had trouble adjusting, its hard stepping up and grabbing an 8 iron, and then putting it back and grabbing a PW and still fly the green.

I feel like I'm on the cusp of shooting some really good scores, with as many shocking shots I hit, to still shoot 93, I feel some good golf coming my way.

Had a good round yesterday, from the blue tees (137 slope rating) for the first time this year, as the fairways have finally dried out. I actually saw some roll. It was, however, still only in the 40s, so distance continues to be cut down by the cold. At least there was no wind.

I did not get to the course until 4pm, so was really only going to practice and play "golf shot." But I started off on the back nine with a birdie after hitting my 168-yard approach to 6 feet. It was a sweet 6 iron. I then nearly birdied the next hole too, but settled for a tap-in par. It was at that point I said to myself, "You know what? Maybe I'll play nine and keep score." It was only 5:30 when I finished up on 18 with a 40 for the back nine. The score was okay, but I was striking the ball well. Both my shoulders and elbows were hurting and I knew I should not push it,.... but I did. I decided to continue and went off the front for my second nine. Turns out I made the right choice (though my upper limbs would argue otherwise right now).

Came home in 37 for a 77 total and a tie for my lowest score so far this year. However, the other 77 was from the white tees. This one was a real 77. And, actually, my first in-season score of the year. Not sure if I can count it on my official GHIN as I played the first nine solo. I did hook up with a young hotshot Junior player from the club for the 2nd nine, though. (And, kicked his ass!)

Shot a mediocre 83 with a 46 on the front. Couldn’t get loose and as a result Didn’t make many good shots. Cold 45* with some wind. I was under dressed for the conditions and was not comfortable.
Tee it up!

Played my first round since October on Monday at San Carlos Golf Club in Estero. Shot an 86, which I was quite pleased with, but putting was abysmal. The greens were rolling 9.5 to 10 and I just couldn't get the pace down.
Throw me another ball will ya!
