Not very often, but that was more based on the rules of the time. No three point shot meant no reason to shoot further from the basket. No reason to shoot further from the basket meant defenses had no reason to aggressively defend further from the basket, so really, there was not that much room the closer you got to the basket to be able to dunk. Also, at one time, not sure when it was changed exactly, there was a rule against dunking the basketball.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

Yes, the NCAA did not allow dunking for quite a while (I looked it up ... 1967 to 1976). A reaction to Abdul-Jabbar's presence in the college game.

Game 5 was tough to watch. Some all-time heroic stuff from Klay and Steph, but also some really stupid play in the last minute. Cousins with two goaltends and an offensive foul, and Draymond with the backcourt turnover with a full shot clock.

I am happy to see a new champion and sad to see Kevin Durant out of the game for an extended rehab.

Now that the Balls, as well as Luke Walton have been shipped out, I'm feeling like maybe I can root for Lakers again, in the regular season at least. Hopefully KCP, Lance, Rondo and the rest of those scum won't be returning either. Jesus, what a horrible squad they were last year.

Wha? You didn't like Lance? Dude's from Brooklyn and strums the f'ing guitar after he hits a shot. If there's anyone you can root for, I thought it'd be him.

Since the last post in this thread, the entire landscape of the NBA changed beyond recognition. But that is for another discussion. Today it was announced that NBA legend Vince Carter, aged 42 (same as me :bawl ), will be playing his final season next year. Pro basketball is no country for old men. Fuck you, Father Time.

The 2 best teams in basketball might be playing in the same arena next year. If you factor in baseball and football, I don't know if L.A. has ever been this dominant.
