I'm particularly pissed off (worried is prob. more like it). Enzo has been limping in varying degrees since Saturday. We've contacted his vet & breeder... doin' this, doin' that & I'm just pissed/worried. He's just a 6 mo. old pup, what the fuck?

Anyone have experience with these larger breeds?

[quote="jasonfish11"]I'm super experienced with knee issues.

Have him sit down, if his knees are tucked under him then his knees aren't bothering him. If one of them flares out to the side it is so he can take pressure off that knee and sitting is painful.

Here is a link that shows 2 dog pictures. The first (boarder collie) is how most dogs should sit, rear legs tucked under. The 2nd picture is a dog who is in pain in their right rear leg.

Thanks Jfish. The breeder also told us about the sit test. He sits the "right" way. Right now I'm applying some arnica gel & doing some leg stretches with him. I think the rational is that it's not bone related & it's tissue/muscle.

2 weeks of limping. Not happy with the (lack of) progress. Enzo is getting tested for lyme today. With a negative test we'll be heading up to Maine to see the breeder's vet - get some xrays & hip ratings... that'll be alot of driving in 1 day, oh well.

This is bullshit.

We got Enzo's hip's OFA rating back & they're normal. Also - here's a bunch of pics (July-ish time frame).

Good news. Thanks for the pics, Coda! Your Enzo is awesome, and so is Dexter: I thought it was a plush toy next to Enzo in #3 from the top! ;)

Ringo turned five sometime last month. Maybe he is sort of a late bloomer but he's still getting better all the time, more loving, charming, loyal and even better looking. Sure he annoys sometimes but that's any family member. If the worst thing he does is stare at me like a creep while I'm trying to watch the tube I should consider us lucky. He brings so much to the household. His unfailing enthusiasm for every single morning, for everyday chores like trips to hardware store or to the laundry room, I could go on and on.

You have not trained him to be like that dog in the Traveller's commercial?

Just got back from annual checkup. Vet was so pleased and impressed with my boy and his condition, his beauty, and his weight loss since the last visit. I am so proud. :jesus I wish we could clone him. Ringodog™ would be such a popular 'breed', and I would be a gajillionaire.

We probably won't be picked, but we applied to adopt a 16 month old rescue boston terrier from a foster home in NC earlier tonight. We have a female now who is the same age, they would be good friends. I think a bunch of people applied for it though.

My dog needs another surgery. This time to remove a tumor. Also found out she has a heart murmur and will likely need heart meds if/when it gets worse.
