Interesting Fact (non-golf)

Post by bkuehn1952 » Fri Feb 12, 2016 11:07 am

Q. Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of what?
A. Their birthplace

At first one thinks this can't be true. I suspect of our LG crew, the vast majority do not live within 50 miles. However, many kids under the age of 18 live where they were born. So though a minority of adults live less than 50 miles away, the homebodies added to the kids gets us to 50% (plus all the college graduates living in the basement).
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!

I also would say a good number of adults live within 50 miles of where they were born.

If I think of my 10 best friends growing up only 5 of them live more than 50 miles from their birth place, and only 2 of us live more than 50 miles from where we grew up (3 of my friends moved to where they live now when they were young).
Keep it short stupid.

Interesting. Obviously, this is not the case for me...and yes, I'm an American now.

It will also not be true, eventually, of our son, when we move to sunny Florida.

But, if I was still living back in Sydney, it would be true.
Throw me another ball will ya!
