It was fun to watch. He looked great for 13 holes or so. And not terrible by any means on the last 5. If he could bring that game to the US Open, watch out.

Here is a very, very deep dive into the story behind 5-time Masters Champion Tiger Woods's driver headcover. Everything you could possibly want to know about this thing and where it came from, the lives it changed, etc. I am not even joking around here. That's the great thing about this 5-time Masters Champion Tiger Woods. Besides making birdies and winning many golf trophies, the man touches peoples lives, and I am talking about in a real, meaningful way (i.e. he makes them mad money). This woman whose headcover 5-time Masters Champion Tiger's mom first bought for him so many years ago, now sits atop an animal headcover empire that spans the entire globe. :breaking

Now evident that 5-time Masters Champion Tiger Woods made some sort of deal with the devil to win the Masters for the fifth time. Either that, or the PGA Tour is in a weak era. In which a 43 year-old with a wonky, fused back can still compete with the supposedly young and tight studs, and still win the biggest of events.

I think that his back was feeling a lot better, but once he started getting back into serious golf it put a very short time window on his "return." It appears that the time table might have been 1.5 years or so.

I guess it was nice that he won another major during that time, but with what I've read and seen I really don't think he's going to be competitive ever again. He just doesn't have the ability to put in practice time.

If his back is bad again it is likely time to retire - this is too sad. But if it isn't his back, he has to put in the practice time. Not sure he is willing to do that at this point. From following the round early, he was missing short irons badly. That sounds like lack of practice. Unless of course, his back is keeping him from practicing.

There goes the Fedex cup too. Last year's was probably the greatest ever, exciting, emotional, gratifying. Must see TV. This year gonna be the complete opposite.

The 5-time Masters Champion Tiger has been spotted onsite today at the Cialis Open BMW Championship, walking and everything. Says he decided yesterday "to give it a go". This all seems like either a new physical challenge to overcome, or else the beginning of the end. Let's say this turns out to have been the last hurrah. Pretty damn good I say. I feel that 5-time Masters Champion Tiger proved something against today's competition. That in his prime he would've still beat the heck out of everyone regardless of the competition. Today's so-called stars might seem better than those of the past but that's mostly recency bias or whatever. Yes the competition is so deep nowadays but I feel you also have to factor in complacency, especially at the highest levels.

Deep down I am secretly hoping it's just a temporary case of 5-time Masters Champion Tiger being unmotivated lately and needing to get his shit together.

5-time Masters Champion Tiger and Chez, just two middle-aged dudes grinding hard to avoid elimination and make the Tour Championship. Unfortunately as is often the case lately, the Chezmeister has the upper hand.

Officially dead. Which is good since he needs to rest and rehab, not play.

I should clarify, when I said not dead I was not alluding to elimination from the big season ending shipping cup competition. Not dead as in not fully debilitated by chronic injury. Long as the guy can make four consecutive rounds of able-body golf, he still has a chance to win stuff, IMO.

This past weekend's showing is enough to keep me believing in my little conspiracy theory, that 5-time Masters Champion Tiger split his nutsack for over a year to win that Masters, and then just got a bit lazy perhaps.
