Trump called into the broadcast. Claims there will be not just a vaccine but also a cure, by the end of this year. Wow. That is an insane claim but hey, business as usual for this clown I guess.

Maybe Seminole is a special venue but on TV it looks like a nice Florida resort course. Flat, not a lot of trees, sand, water. I like that they are carrying their own bag and no caddies whispering in their ear.

Florida, if they have such supposedly great golf courses, how come they never do a U.S. Open there, like ever? Is my question to you.

So Rory's Dad is a member at Seminole. I am sure he got in based on his own merits rather than his familial ties to Rory.

Set your watch, there are thunderstorms every day at about 2:30.

Is Tiger playing his match with Phil, TB12 and Peyton this coming Sunday? I think it is on TNT and one of the dates tossed around was May 24.

Doug, my reaction to "Peyton and I" was similar. It can be easy to flub that bit of grammar when speaking but it should not show up written incorrectly. Maybe it was Tiger's Assistant for Social Media who made the error. Yes, that is likely what happened. Tiger is a Stanford man. He wouldn't make that error.

It's just missing a word... "to watch when Peyton and I win." See? Correct grammar and everything...

Yes, that word makes all the difference. Without the word, it is incorrect. Sorry. I still love Tiger, though (My wife makes the same mistake often and I still love her, too. Surprisingly, after all these years of correcting her, she still loves me, too....I think. ;) )

Tiger and Phil coming up in a couple hours. Tiger Tards might want to tune in just to get a glimpse of TW home golf course.

Brady is getting his confidence destroyed on live national TV. I really think there could be some mental scarring happening right now, that today's round might actually affect his ability to play high level football going forward.

Welp, I have to admit it. I really enjoyed watching The Match. It was a lot of fun listening to them all needle each other. I watched every single shot. Though before the start, I really only turned it on with mild interest. But, it sucked me in right away. I did not get anything else done that I was planning, but I don't feel bad about that. Most entertaining day of golf in a long time.

I was so surprised to see Brady finally hit a great shot, but I don't think I was near as surprised as Brady! Right in the middle of hearing crap from Charles Barkley, he pulls that doozy out of his butt. Gotta hand it to Brady. And his comment to Sir Charles was great, "You can suck on some of that!" Really glad I watched. I even came away from it disliking Brady a little less than before. Gotta give him credit for rebounding after looking like a 20 handicapper the first bunch of holes. Peyton was solid all day. Tiger looked really in control and Phil was fun to listen to. Nice haircut btw, Phil. And, Barkley had me laughing a number of times. I'd love to play 18 with him. (Well, right about now, I'd love to pay 18, period. But I'll save that for the grumble thread.)

I enjoyed it too, mainly just seeing 5-time Masters Champion and Greatest PGA TOUR Champion of All-Time Tiger knocking it around his home track. He was definitely in the flow. Competitive, but chill and low-key at the same time. Good to know that the GOAT straps his glove to the steering wheel in between shots.

Favorite moment was on the first long drive hole. Phil was hopped up on too much coffee and talking at length about how far he was going to hit it. But then he sliced it off the planet and became crestfallen as Tiger hit his down the middle.

Wow, just read this morning that The Match was the most watched event in cable sports history! Even beating out the 2010 Master when Tiger made his return. Glad I watched the whole thing.

That surprises me. I assumed that a lot of America would've been outside and busy getting our country back open and transitioning to greatness and shit.

I slightly erred. It was the most watched GOLF event in cable history.

5.8 million average viewers for The Match

AP report..."Two of the biggest names from the PGA Tour and the NFL proved to be must-see TV."

"Turner Sports said the Sunday telecast of "The Match: Champions for Charity" attracted an average of 5.8 million viewers across four of its networks. Turner says it was the most-watched golf telecast in cable TV history."

"It said the previous record was 4.9 million viewers on ESPN at the 2010 Masters, the year Tiger Woods returned to golf for the first time since the scandal in his personal life."
