Events canceled/postponed in 2020

Post by jasonfish11 » Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:40 am

Sounds like they are phrasing it in a way that sounds a lot like "hey this isn't likely to happen this year"

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/28 ... -postponed
Keep it short stupid.

You know what I find truly insane right now, is that the Olympics committee is STILL insisting that the games will go on as planned on July 24, and that cancellation or postponement HAS NOT EVEN BEEN CONSIDERED. Absolute maniacs. To some people, no joke, the Olympics is absolutely more important than human lives.

You do have pro basketball leagues in China and South Korea that are back playing games, so being that far out may not be that far fetched to think the games could still go on.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

Yesterday I missed not having televised golf. Sunday afternoons are sort of dead areas when I am not playing.
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!

There will be no Champion Golfer of 2020. The Open Championship and Wimbletons both canceled outright. So sad.

I think at this point, cancelling is the more dignified act. Rather than a sad progression of postponements, and denials. "Everything's great, everything's gonna continue to be great, nothing to see here!"

Last night I tried watching an LPGA rerun from 2018, just to look at some ball whackin'. I lasted about seven minutes. Tonight I will try watching myself play some Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 on the Nintendo. Don't worry I will play in Tour Mode.

The world is burning down but from out of the smoke clouds and rubble... the US Women's Open has emerged! The first scheduled golf tournament of the post-coronavirus world. December 10-13. This is probably just some gayass fanciful thinking on the USGA's part but hey, it is a golf tournament, with a specific date, in 2020, a lot more than anybody else is offering lately. I am not exactly hopeful myself but am somehow cheered up by the news.
