-8, 62. A great start. He looked good. Unfortunately, Rors is looking damn good too. Interestingly, they played a practice round together a day or so ago.

Forget about winning, Tiger is now hovering around the Tour Championship cutoff line. Important from a Tiger tard perspective because the TC represents one more opportunity to win in 2018, a small field and an event he was won multiple times and dominated.

Chez needs a miracle to get in btw.

Is Tiger turning into Steve Stricker type of player? Nice guy, fan favorite, solid game but struggles to close the deal.

I really thought that what he needed was a round where he went really low, but that wasn't enough. Now I think he needs a really low round and a last pairing to win. I think it will come, but I also think that this shows it is harder to win today than it was.

Speaking of than it was - doesn't it feel like flashback city to have Keegan Bradley and Webb Simpson near the top of the sport?

Like Michelle Wie, Tiger has a lot to be proud of himself for lately. I just read that the same good play which got Tiger into the Tour Championship has also qualified him for next year's US Open. Which means no groveling for a very special exemption, nor slogging it out in qualifying--both of which would be pretty sad for a guy who is pretty much synonymous with US Open at Pebble Beach.

Which brings me to my next point. Tiger Woods'es' golf swing in 2018. Jesus Christ this guy has been doing this all alone. I'd say that has been underrated and overshadowed by the overall spectacle of the post-fusion comeback campaign. People are so impressed that Tiger is coming back like this after a spine surgery that they are maybe forgetting that a) his current swing is pretty damn good 2) he came up with it all by himself and c) it represents a major change from his previous swing. A major improvement actually. In hindsight it seems like Tiger should have gone his own way and never bothered with the Sean Foley Project. Although one could argue that in Sean Foley Tiger was seeking more of a friend to lean on in his post-scandal aftermath than anything else.

It is hard to keep track of things occurring in the Western Hemisphere. Time differences and losing track of the day of the week. Tiger was 3 under an hour ago.

Based on what I saw yesterday I think Tiger Woods is in the zone. Not just the round but post-round, he was shown grinding on the practice green. And when he speaks, sounds very cheerful and confident. Anything higher than a 67 today will be a disappointment :onfire

I am afraid to go full tard. I said full speed ahead but now I am fearing a letdown of epic proportions. I am afraid. Fuck you. I am not watching by the way. I am suffering through five hour golf round.

Who knew the Tour Championship would end up producing the single most intriguing, most anticipated round of the entire of 2018 season. There is so much at stake. So much pressure and expectation, more than any golfer in history has ever felt. Yeah okay Bobby Jones maybe bore the expectations of the whole world but no disrespect to that guy but at that time there were only like what, 8 million people on earth total? And no TV either.

Anyways if Tiger wins it will resonate unlike any of the previous 79 wins. The PGA TOUR, the FedEx Cup, Ryder Cup, the major championships will all henceforth become magnified. An aging but resurrected Tiger locking horns with this new generation of instagram boys and media darlings could produce unprecedented hype, quite possibly a better than ever PGA TOUR product. The entire current narrative of pro golf will be re-written and revised. The quest for the all-time majors record, once thought to have been snuffed out, will be re-kindled. I am maybe getting ahead of myself here.

It's a 3 horse race with the best closer in any sport taking a lead. I was going to say "arguably the best closer" but let's be honest. His closing percentage when leading or tied for the lead is better than Mariano Rivera's closing record, and Rivera only has 1/9 of the game left where tiger has 1/4 of it left. So you can argue with my statement if you want to be wrong.

Wow! I can’t believe how everything came down to a shot in the end, both for Tiger and Justin Rose, who made a clutch birdie to win the $10 mil!
I'm gonna go low this time...

FANTASTIC!

I'm not sure what makes me more satisfied, the fact that he won (against the top 30 players on the PGA Tour this year, btw), or the fact that all the naysayers must eat their words:
"He'll CHOMP CHOMP never win CHOMP CHOMP again! SWALLOW"

:fu haters.
