Holy shit @DougE

Probably not gonna go over well with Nike, but I'm pleased to see it. Hope to see him wear them on game day(s).

Just speculating here, but maybe Tiger feels he needs to be in some "real" golf shoes, which have actual support built in to help him make the tough, 4-day trek. Not to mention all the off-balance stances and shots he will need to pull off from so many uneven lies at Augusta. Last thing he needs at this stage of his recovery is to roll his foot over accidentally as a result of wearing an inferior shoe on such an unforgiving topography as ANGC. Footjoy knows a thing or two about making the best golf shoes in the game. They've been doing it for nearly 100 years.

Looking at the shoes in the pic, I noticed that the FJ badge is not on the saddle as it normally should be. I guess Nike required that. But there is no mistaking this shoe. It is all Footjoy. Also, you can see the embossed FJ in the heel portion of the black sole.

P.S. I can attest to the quality of the FJ Premiere series. I have three pairs of them. (Two custom-designed MyJoys models and one stock offering.)

I can tell by the complete silence that I have offended people yet again with my unhinged enthusiasm and bias toward one player who, quite frankly, is highly unlikely to actually win. I am sorry. We can talk about the other players in the field, anyone you want, I promise. I will even chill with the Tiger posts.

You can talk about Tiger all you want as far as I'm concerned. Love the guy, myself.

FWIW, I'm putting a few bucks on him. What the hell.

No offense. I'm just holding any excitement until we see if he can really play or not. Based on first 6 holes, it appears he can - can he walk the course. As long as he's competitive it's great for golf.

Almost looks like mid-season form, if one didn't know any better. Ball speed is noticeable lower and he cannot go into a full crouch to read putts. But getting it around pretty good. I tell you, having a golf course in one's literal backyard has got to be some kind of advantage.

The best golfer of all time is back in the game. Good for golf and a definite threat. I believe he can still win.

Masters.com is the undisputed leader in the field of golf on tv. Just now discovering that they are letting you shut off the commentary and just listen to natural sound. This is wonderful, amazing, unbelievable. I think I will try it during the featured Tiger group. Watching live sports with no commentary whatsoever, it is a radically unorthodox concept, and cannot be long for this world. Enjoy it before they wise up.

Holy shit folks I am really doing it. Watching live Tiger coverage (as well as featured groups) with commentary off. Feels so weird. Like the training wheels have been taken off or something. I have often fantasized about this day, and probably called for the head of many a golf commentator. But now that it is finally happening, I am a little scared. Will I even like it this way, or will I freak out and go running back to the familiar. I will try to stick with it for the whole round. It is a lot closer to the actual in-person experience. Like just now, a gallery roared in the distance, but I have no idea what for. :bawl

I am almost happy about our crappy weather since it keeps me off the course and in front of the TV. Almost. :fkno

Our man still doesn't look to be walking well. It is sort of sad how once my standard was that Tiger needed to be in contention and now it is making the cut. I suspect he does not like the new Tiger standard either. Baby steps, Tiger. Make cuts, heal yourself and comeback in 2023.

Tiger and I have something in common. Thursday, in our tournament, I had a 5-footer on the last hole to shoot 79. Yesterday, Tiger faced the same challenge. We both made the putt. Our level of satisfaction likely were polar opposites.

Heartening to see the Tiger back in action this week. In these dark uncertain times, he is needed more than ever. You never need to question this guy's priorities. It's never about money with Tiger. Are you not tired yet of talking about golfers' money problems? I am. Actually I never cared in the first place.

At times it seems difficult to be a Tiger tard. But then I remember that the guy has won a lot, way more than the next winningest guy.

Still, every other golfer in the world gets to suck in relative privacy. Tiger gave up that privilege a long time ago. Oh well, doesn't seem to be bother him too much, why should it bother us.
