Wie are currently playing the round of her career in the final round of the Woman British Open. Okay so she is still five shots behind the leader, but that's only because she didn't do so great in rounds 2 and 3. If you were to take those two rounds out of the score, she would be running away with the tournament. So all credit to her. Much to be proud of.

Wie had a good final round and the interview turned into a real pridefest. She declared her self-pride five times in less than two minutes. She should be sponsored by the Golf Pride grip company.

Seriously, there is some serious arrested development going on with this person. What kind of normal adult says stuff like that.

My eyes are rolling back so hard it hurts Doug. Next thing you are going to tell me is that she is so "great for the game". And then you are probably going to talk about Michelle just needing to graduate college and dedicate herself full-time to golf and only then we are going to see her full potential.

Well guys Michelle finally came down from her ivory tower and accepted a suitor. That suitor is NBA Hall of Famer Jerry West's son. Make of that what you will. I think this is great news, for the world. Notice she hasn't been in the headlines in a long time? You know what they say, no news is great news.

I am not a Michelle Wie fan. But this situation does not look good and I feel concern. Seeing her struggle thusly I want to take back everything bad I ever said. At the core she is just some simple kid who really does love golf. On the other hand she is going to be thirty this year. Not old for the world, but a lot of professional golf mileage. Grinding in the spotlight since age 12 or whatever. She has admitted that she is dumb and doesn't listen to her body or goes overboard with practice and/or swing-changin'. And injury prone the whole time so if she is worn out, I am not surprised.

She is 29 so it is not like she is a child bride. Good move hitching a guy from a basketball family (tall). If she had low incentive to practice and hone her game, she now has even less. I have to think the son of an NBA legend likely has a few dollars in his pocket.

Not talking about her age but the fact that she only went public two months ago with this relationship. That means it is still a new relationship. What, you believe that someone like Michelle Wie has actually been a long-term relationship, and somehow she managed to keep her mouth shut about it the whole time? :lolz Oh yeah, so private, that Michelle Wie. Said nobody ever in the history of the world. :facepalm You are a sweet kid, don't ever change.

Okay, that makes a lot of sense. You are absolutely correct. In this Twitter/Instagram/Facebook world no one keeps much private, especially "celebrities."

No joking. May be time to put this thread to rest once and for all. The subject of the Wie Watch is in dire straits. Long story short, she tried to come back after some hand/wrist injury and shot 80-something in round 1 of the KPMGWPGAC and then cried to reporters afterwards. Sad.

Michelle Wie and Trevor Immelman are joining CBS Sports

CBS announced a flurry of moves on Tuesday morning, weeks after parting ways with mainstays Peter Kostis and Gary McCord, and adding Davis Love III, with Wie the biggest name in the announcement. Though her role is vague—a statement said Wie "will contribute to CBS Sports’ multimedia golf coverage this season, including the Masters"—Wie's transition to media has been expected, as mounting injuries have sidelined her playing career. During the Solheim Cup in September, Wie appeared on Golf Channel as a guest analyst in the network's Orlando studio.

Does this signal the end of her golf career? My guess is she will become healthy and give it one more go before hanging up the cleats.

Unfortunately I think you are right. She will come back to the game at least once, to great fanfare no doubt. Newfound maturity, perspective, gratitude, focus etc.

Fortunately the golf world actually seems to have moved on. When she got engaged and married, the needle barely moved. I wondered if that was a rude awakening for the poor girl, I mean woman. Hiring her for commentary feels like an attempt to wring the last few drops of value out of someone's notoriety. This is a person who has proven herself over a long period of time to be exceptionally bad at talking into a mic. But even if she was able to articulate a thought, her voice is not particularly pleasing.

Michelle is a new mom. If signing on as a golf commentator did not signal the end of her competitive golf career, motherhood has. I hope she is a good mother, enjoys life and stays away from golf.

Stays away from golf? Fat chance. If anything she is going to be on TV as a talking head and spokesperson more than she ever was as a golfer. People like Michelle Wie do not ride off into sunsets unfortunately.
