Marathon Classic Preview, Pairings, and More.

Post by tonyj5 » Tue Jul 12, 2016 4:11 pm

This week the LPGA moves to the state of Ohio for the playing of the Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning and O-l.

Many may remember last year's exciting conclusion when Chella Choi fired a final round 66, to force a playoff with Ha Na Jang. Choi would go on to win the playoff. Lydia Ko and Shanshan Feng finished just 1 shot back.

Here is my preview:

Wow live final round coverage on CBS. To what do we owe such a privilege? I am guessing CBS is in hot water with Uncle Sam and this is part of some sort of plea bargain or community service deal. There is no other rational explanation.

I found it hilarious that CBS's goodwill (wherever the hell it came from) ran out after two playoff holes and they dumped it back off to Golf Channel. Blatant sexism man. If it was a PGA Tour event I'm pretty sure they would've been willing to cut a few minutes into "Murder, She Wrote" or whatever the hell they had on next.

Hey, at least they continued coverage on a channel I can get. In the bad old days you might get a "special report" part way through "Murder, She Wrote"* telling everyone that Lydia Ko won.

* I never saw an entire episode of "Murder, She Wrote." I am old and have bad taste but not THAT bad!
