Yeah after 5+ years of putting myself in the lottery I finally got practice round tickets.

My luck is it will rain.

If it doesn't rain I'm going to take a ton of pictures, probably many will be at the par 3 contest.

I for one am glad that we as a community will be represented. Have fun man and don't worry about getting photos to post here. That was going to be my first request but then it occurred to me that it's not really worth the effort. Pro photographers from all over the world descend on this place, I'm sure there will be no shortage of visual documentation. Plus life is what happens when you are busy futzing around with the camera. (I think that is a John Lennon lyric or something.) Just enjoy yourself Fish, maybe write us up a little report about it, about the players you saw, the sandwiches you enjoyed etc.

I am not sure he is allowed to take pictures, even during a practice round. Make sure you read the policy before going.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

They sent a 4 page pamphlet on code of conduct for spectators.

Just recently (last 2-3 years) they allowed patrons to bring cameras for practice rounds and the par 3 contest. But you are not allowed to bring cell phones, tablets, or other devices like that.

Also the opening message on page 1 of the pamphlet was about how to cheer or not cheer the players. It all but stated "no yelling mashed potatoes."

That's pretty cool. Have a pimento cheese for me.

Beef's right about the pics. They end up being shite anyway, for the most part.

Was I the only one that enjoyed the shit outta Jfurr's pics? I've seen all the same pictures of Augusta - his showed a different point of view. Def. don't miss anything trying to get a picture but, just saying. Or did I dream up all those Jfurr pics? Either way - The Masters... very cool.

I agree. I liked Furr's pics because they were different.

I don't see a point in taking a picture of #12. I can find thousands of pictures of #12 that are better than the one I'll take. But some of Furr's pictures were of things we don't see all of the time, which I liked.

I totally agree with the sentiment that somewhat off beat photos are better than our attempts to replicate typical photos taken by professionals. I also like to have people we know in the photos. Years later it is often more interesting to see the people than the setting.

Awesome. We need to coordinate a meet up time to have a beer and moon pie together or something.

Last year I took my point and shoot Nikon camera. I think cell phones are banned. I can't remember. I know PGA allows smartphones now but I don't think Augusta does.

I'm looking forward to the par 3 I've never seen that. I went Thursday '08, Monday '15, Tuesday '16. I think that's correct.

One of my coworkers used to just drive over in the afternoon and wait for someone to come out to leave and just ask if he could have their pass, then go in and watch the last hour or two.

My hunch is that Tiger will show up and play. My theory is that his issues are specifically related to his competition golf game. Something different happens on a physical maybe even cellular level when the stakes are official. Which is to say, he can get back to playing and practicing at home fine, but during competition the tension gets ratcheted up several notches. So yeah, I think he'll fine to tee it up Thursday, but then probably struggle the rest of the way.

Tiger is said to be scheduled in a flight with Phil and Jason Day. I guess he'll pull out faster than you can wink.

I'm going to be wearing a purple and grey UA shirt, grey shorts and a grey golf week am tour hat.

I'll be with 2 older guys and another 30' something.

Whoa, it is now Masters week? I am caught a bit off-guard. Well, that's the life of a poseur golf fan--these things sneak up on you. One day you wake up and to your surprise it's already time for the Masters, and you haven't even got any pimento cheese dip ready.

Oh well I'm not too put out. When you set aside most of the hoopla this tournament is essentially the ANA Inspiration of men's golf.

They are calling for intense weather here and in the Augusta area today. Tornado type storms.
