The Presidents Cup 2017
...is being held at Liberty National golf course in shitty Jersey City.
As the crow flies, this is actually the closest golf course to casa del beef. It also happens to be very accessible during pro events such as this. I would need only to ride my bike down the mostly-pleasant East River greenway, to the southern, anus end of Manhattan from where a short ferry ride would take me right up to the entrance of the golf course.
In this scenario taking the ferry actually seems like the best and easiest option. Typically when you go to a pro golf event you park your car in a huge lot then wait in a line to board a repurposed yellow school bus and ride for a few miles to get to the actual course, a process both time consuming and dehumanizing.
I don't actually have much desire to see the Other Cup match. Mainly I would be going to get a first-hand view of the boy wonder. It's just that the accessibility is so great that it's forcing me to consider going. It would be very similar to taking the ferry to Staten Island to play shitty muni golf, only a much shorter trip. One of those can't-afford-not-to situations I guess. What say you people?

You don't understand so I will splain it. I'm not even being mean, it's just fact. There are nice locations, in western and northern parts of the state, but Jersey City and Newark are industrial hell-holes, full of factories, toxic waste, industrial blight, really bad roads, infrastructure, people etc. Just truly unfortunate places.

I'm gonna look for cheap scalped tickets. Face value is like $73 including boat fare. I don't know though, could be a sellout. NYC full of tards these days.

Are there practice rounds? Sometimes those are cheap and available.
Let's Play 36

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
My decision will come down to Phil Mickelson.
Steve Stricker has said that he's going to let Phil decide whether Phil should be on the team.
I didn't really care about these asinine cup matches one way or the other, but this is such a spineless, noncommittal, wishy-washy move. Stricker who I was formerly a fan of, is now on the shit-list.
If Phil puts himself on the team I am definitely not attending and supporting that kind of nonsense. I have had it up to here with Phil Mickelson drama bullshit. Just earlier this year he was wearing everyone the fuck out with his whole US Open drama.

So you going to book a tee time at Dyker that weekend now that you don't have plans?legitimatebeef wrote: If Phil puts himself on the team I am definitely not attending and supporting that kind of nonsense. Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
That's a good point, might be a good weekend on which to play golf while the majority of area golf fans are busy going full tard in Jersey City. Not gonna be Dyker though.jasonfish11 wrote:So you going to book a tee time at Dyker that weekend now that you don't have plans?legitimatebeef wrote: If Phil puts himself on the team I am definitely not attending and supporting that kind of nonsense. Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
I find any Sunday the NY Giants are playing a good time to hit the course. When my son was playing tennis I would drop him off at the courts and go to the range on Sunday afternoons. I would basically have the range to myself, then at 4:30 or so tons of people would show up because the football game ended.

I have informed the little lady that we will not be attending, and it's because of Phil. Thankfully she doesn't seem to have a problem with it. I think she is also tired of the drama.

I wonder if our President will decide to attend, in as much as the "Cup" is named for his position? And it is just a short helicopter ride from D.C.

I hope he does! He won't though. Because the Presidents Cup is a second rate event. You know it and I know it.

El Tigré is at the Presidents Cup (along with some big names from DC). He seems happy to be there, to be a part of things. Body language looks positive, for whatever that's worth.

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
I think El Tigré was pointing Beef out to the Presidents, as a warning to avoid at all costs.

I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
All this time I assumed that Phil Mickelson avoided social media because he wanted to stay above the fray. But no, he's just technologically inept. He probably still reads newspapers and sends out handwritten correspondences. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
If the inties somehow carve out a miracle lead going into the final day, I will try to attend and if I do I am going to razz Mickelson so hard and unmerciful. I joke around about that guy and what not but in all seriousness, I consider him one of the bad ones.

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
So I know the US needs 7 points from 8 matches tomorrow but what happens if mathematically it's over after Saturday?
Do they all just get shitfaced and stoned and play out the Sunday round? Does Phil put right handed clubs in his bag for Sunday?
Fall Break 2k17 with Spieth, Thomas, and Fowler?

They should but they won't. One occasion where I'd actually feel sorry for the commentating crew, having to spit shine this massive turd.jasonfish11 wrote:So I know the US needs 7 points from 8 matches tomorrow but what happens if mathematically it's over after Saturday?

Re: The Presidents Cup 2017
Wow I'm not usually a fan of someone getting blown out, but I'm hoping the US wins all 4 afternoon matches and closes this out. Just because I'd want to see what happens.
But I suspect that they have been told that the sponsors wouldn't be happy with that and they need to make sure they don't get 3.5 points.

Yay let's feed some more Christians to the lions.
