Tiger Woods
turned pro Aug 1996
top 50- 10/19/1996 - 65 days
top 25- 1/11/1997 - 149 days
top 5- 4/12/1997 - 240 days

Other notables:
Phil Mickelson - 1995 days (estimate) to OWGR top 5
Dustin Johnson - 1365 days (estimate) to OWGR top 5
Jason Day - 2779 days (estimate) to OWGR top 5

Clearly Jon Rahm is no Tiger Woods, but using this specific metric, this guy seems like he may have quite a career ahead of him.

Or perhaps it is a reflection of the fact that the current lineup of professionals at the top is like a revolving door?
