Tiger goes into the weekend four off the lead held by Beau Hossler. Who? Exactly. I actually like his chances now. Get out there Doug.

I don't know. He's got a lot of people in front of him still, and it's a veritable who's who of who the fuck are these people?

Leaderboard is now topped by Hossler and a Gay with Tiger only three back. If he does not get it done this week, against this meek field, I will be disappoint.

Molinari's ballstriking was unbelievable. He deserved the win, hands down. 8 or 9 strokes ahead of 2nd place. Yet, Tiger hit the ball extremely well too. If he made all those putts that lipped out, he would have finished a close second. A T4 finish, while having nearly the worst putting stats in the field, is pretty impressive. If he can find his putting stroke, I am confident he will win soon.

Me too. I checked out his stats. Nothing really sticks out. He is playing consistently solid and not winning, like f'n Paul Casey pre 2018, or something. Most importantly seems to be enjoying himself out there. That is the real name of the game, jack.

He was last in the field putting from inside 10'. But his was 7th in the field strokes gained putting. So if I had to guess he was 1st or 2nd in the field putting from outside 10'.

His short range putting was just bad most of them I saw missed left (I only watched on Sunday). When I'm missing short putts left it's because I start shutting it down with my right hand which is my "yipp" move. It took me 4-5 years to loose that feeling, hopefully he can do it in less than a week.

I have a good feeling about The Open and Tiger. I'd have an even better feeling if he did some serious pre-tournament recon. Personally, I think he should take his two kids for a two-week vacation over to Scotland and do some sight-seeing, feel good about the fam.....and play 8 or 9 rounds of golf at all different times of day, at Carnoustie while he's there. Putt those greens from every possible angle. Make great notes. It's not like he doesn't have a nice jet of his own to get there or enough money to pay for the finest hotels. Hell, bring LaCava over too. He can map the greens out and help develop a solid game plan. Being there before the rest of the Tour gets there could be a real advantage. What else has he got to do? Stay home and practice in his backyard on Bermuda? C'mon Tiger. Take the bull by the horns and get serious. You're better than they are. Prove it.

15th/80th!

Yeah that would help. But if I were him, I think it would be best to slow down his back yard green to a 6 or 7 on the stimp meter. Then putt until he's made 100 3' putts in a row. The move to 5' and make 50 in a row.

If he is over using his right hand and shutting it down on short puts. Slow greens will make that even worse because his brain will tell him he needs to hit it harder. So really slowing them down and forcing yourself to work through that crap will be best. The bad news is that British Open greens are generally on the slower side to defend against the wind, so unless he puts in a lot of work I don't see this problem fixing itself in 2 weeks.

My guess is that Rickie wins this week, becomes 2nd biggest story of the year.

Before the tourney, I got Fowler at 18/1 win and 4/1 top 5, Fleetwood 28/1 win 6/1 top 5, and :bawl Finau 40/1 win 9/1 top 5. This afternoon, I was able to get Kyle Stanley 40/1 win.
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

So we don't have a web.com thread and I don't see a point in starting one.

Just have to say I'm really impressed with Steph Curries golf game. He could probably quit basketball dedicte himself to golf and be making cuts on the web.com tour in a couple years.

Ok so I just found out that he shot 71 by putting lights out. To me this is less impressive than great ball striking because there is so much variance in putting. He gained 2.2 strokes against the field putting and that included 2 3-putts (well 1 was from the fringe, so technically that didn't count).

Either way thats super impressive.

He did hit the flagstick on 8 with his approach for one of his birdies.

Between 2nd and 3rd round today, I made a small bet for Branden Stone at 95-1 to win.

Chez is just outside the top ten this week, and is actually in a fine position to steal the Fedex Cup. That would be awesome. I am praying for it.

Nope, except for the other players and caddies in Chez's group, no one on earth was aware of that.
