Johnny Miller retirement

Post by legitimatebeef » Wed Oct 17, 2018 8:34 pm

I for one am bummed. I don't think he was all that spectacular at calling the shots, but I am accustomed to his presence. As a Tiger Tard I have strong associations with Johnny's voice and big moments in tournament golf. He was there for many of Tiger's exploits going way back to the US Am when Tiger came back to beat that Steve Scott kid and his girlfriend. He was on the mic at every Tiger US Open, and also at Phil's Winged Foot disaster. I know this sounds stupid but as a commentator he didn't seem to get nervous at all during those big moments. So I appreciated his commentary especially when shit got real. Glad he was there for Tiger's latest win. :breaking

I think Johnny's best moment was when Tiger was finishing a delayed round at Pebble Beach. At 18 Tiger hit a hook on to the beach and let go of a string of mother fucking shit ass words that were picked up by the live mic for TV. There was silence from the booth until Johnny said, "Well folks, that just about says it all."
