Re: What did you shoot today?
I had a similar streak earlier this year. The key is birdies. Get a few of those and one can make a few mistakes.

44/46 90 at Shawnee Hills in Bedford, OH.
Better than the last time I played there. The new driver was surprisingly good. I think I hit it better than the Cobra so there's a bright spot.

Re: What did you shoot today?
Best round of the year, 74. 13/14 fairways and 13 GIR. The yardage at which I played was a bit unimpressive at 5,895 yards but I am going on 73 so maybe I earned the right to play a patsy of a course.
This was unexpected since I had put up several stinkers the last three rounds (82, 87, 85).

Hopefully a sign of scores going down 44/44 88 at Sleepy Hollow in Brecksville, OH. Another Cleveland Metroparks course and the one that a lot of people love, which I can now see why.
We played from the Black tees (tips) 6648 yards 73.4/148. I hit 9/14 fairways which is probably my best I've ever done.

Re: What did you shoot today?
Ball striking is getting back to normal but still struggling to put it all together. Saturday was a decent 80 with 10 GIRs, not bad considering two unplayable drives, a sand error, and a sh**k. Had at least 5 really good looks at birdie but nothing dropped.
Sunday not quite as good with an 83 - ball striking was good, but two drives OB and two more sh**ks lead to four DBs. The big misses continue to confound me. Very discouraged.

46/42 88 at Ironwood in Hinkley, OH from the tips. Hit 6/14 or 43% fairways which is a lot better than last week.
Re: What did you shoot today?
Had my best round in quite a while with a 78, albeit from one tee up / one shot easier. Pretty solid round but also had a little bit of luck. In my recent funk I reviewed last year's scores and saw that my turnaround didn't start until June, so maybe there's course conditions or weather that's affecting me, but that really doesn't make any sense. I guess there's hope.

Re: What did you shoot today?
We made a trip to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Left on May 18th and got home on June 3. My brother married a Brazilian woman and the two of them live in Austin, TX (actually Round Rock). They also own an apartment in Belo Horizonte.
The reason for the trip was twofold: a big Brazilian family party for my sister-in-law's 50th birthday and they plan on renting the apartment out so this was the last time for free lodging.
So why am I saying all this in the "what did you shoot" thread??? Hang on, I am getting around to it. After getting home on June 3 at 10:00am (we started the trip at 11:30am on June 2), I made a tee time for 6:40am on June 4. At 6:40am I walked to the tee not having swung a golf club or rolled a putt since May 16. I put the peg in the ground, placed a Titleist on it, made an easy practice swing and then teed off. The ball went about 50 yards and never got more than 6 inches off the ground. After 4 holes I was 3 over and darn lucky to not be worse off. From that point on I was 1 over the rest of the way. 76. Frankly, I was not surprised by my performance on the first 4 holes. I was surprised how everything suddenly clicked. Maybe after 60+ years of swinging a club, my body remembered what it was supposed to be doing.

Quite impressive achievement but I must admit I’m disappointed- I thought you were going to boast about playing in Brazil.

I never saw a golf course or mention of a golf club. No driving ranges or putt putt either.GBOGEY wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:11 pm Quite impressive achievement but I must admit I’m disappointed- I thought you were going to boast about playing in Brazil.
