Sorry I was not very clear in my rant. The field this year is just way less interesting; there are only names I faintly recognize from LPGA leaderboards way back. No star power whatsoever. Whereas last year there were former major champions, a major social media babe, an LPGA rookie who is big in Japan (and who took medalist).

Had the Senior PGA on TV today as I was doing other stuff. Googled where it's being played - Michigan - guys wearing sweaters and hoodies. I'm like, why would you play a Senior major in Michigan in May/Winter? It's 85 and gorgeous in SC today.

We were in Brazil while the Mitten was having the worst month of May in 100 years. I am surprised it didn't snow. It was sunny and 75-80 every day in Brazil.

I'm still getting used to technology changes. When I turned the US Open on today, it gave me a multi-screen option - cool!!!!

I enjoyed some of that too. Multiscreen had been around previously, but you always had to use a special app. And the video was usually buggy. Now it is offered as a regular old channel on the YoutubeTV. (Which let's face it is basically the streaming platform for old folks.) Now, we can surf back and forth between multiple group live coverage and like, "Matlock" reruns or whatever.

It is finally here. The Ryder Cup has come to Bethpage, New York. I have feared this event ever since I first learned of it many years ago. The Ryder Cup perennially is a potential powderkeg of bad sportsmanship, waiting for a spark. But this year has the potential to be the most horrible sports event of all-time. It will feature Trump, Bryson DeChambeau, the people of Long Island, and gobs of big beautiful patriotism no doubt. Buckle up.

Haven't watched any golf in months. I can't tell you who is hot, who is not, or even where any tour is playing. Wake me up for the Masters.

The defections of Bruce Koepka and Patrick Reed from LIV have everyone all excited. Predictions are flying around of the demise of LIV Golf. The Saudi's have a boat load of money so I don't see this happening. Of course, my prediction skills are negligible.

Which makes that recent Anthony Kim win appear a bit "sus" as the youth would say. Thankfully none of it matters either which way. The entire story of LIV golf is depressing as hell. I don't even care to go there. At the risk of speaking up for the PGA Tour, I just don't see how you can compete with a legacy that goes back to the mid 20th century, with all those hallowed figures like Hogan and Nicklaus and Palmer and Woods. And all those venues like Pebble and Riviera and Torrey that are highly glorified too. They might as well try to take on the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL. All they can do is cause disruption with the sheer magnitude of their financial power. That fuckin sucks by the way and plenty enough reason to steer clear. Also as someone who hates shorts they are actually begging for people like me to not watch.
