2025-2026 Winter Support Group

Post by bkuehn1952.2 »

It has been 24 days since I hit a golf ball.

We were in Texas for a few days but it was for our grandson's graduation, so no golf. At the grandson's request, we went to a Brazilian Steakhouse-type restaurant. I never have picked up a larger tab ... $1,050. I think I bought my first car for less than that.

It's been a few weeks here. I'm dealing with RSI in both wrists and my left elbow. I'm going to try and have a swing during the Christmas break and see how I go.

Now 70 days since hitting a golf ball or swinging a club.

Our snow removal guys have been here more in the past 8 weeks than the prior two years combined. And it has been freakin' cold. It has been a long time since we have had a real winter in the Mitten. I am going to need to toughen up.

It's been brutally cold here as well. I may be headed to Charleston the last week of March to try and thaw out a bit.

Been a nasty winter in my old NYC as well. They got a big snow and nothing but freezing temps since. So the snow is all filthy now with nowhere to go and the people just have to live with it. I just read today that the Hudson River is starting to form ice.

It's been paradise weather here the last couple of weeks. I say that now with neither pride nor guilt. Yeah the weather is often great. But the tradeoff is that for most of the time, we live under threat of total destruction. An insane tradeoff. Also too much sun, I swear to God it makes people stupid and/or crazy.

Our perfect weather was followed by the coldest spell we ever felt in California. Lows in the 30s! Frosted ground in the morning. It has also been a wet winter. The range is still waterlogged; I haven't whacked balls all week. Already, golf feels like something I used to do.

I was nice here during the week getting up to 60 then the cold returned and the wind last night was biting. It's going to be an up and down week weather wise.
