Golf in NYC
Golf in NYC
This is primarily for Beef, but others might find it interesting as well. If you haven't seen it yet, the September issue of Golf Digest has a bunch of stuff about playing golf in and around NYC. I think you, Beef, might get something out of it. Many of the stories I read made me think of you. Give it a read.
Re: Golf in NYC
I could just see Beef calling bullshit on most of the stuff.

I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.
Re: Golf in NYC
I kept looking at every picture wondering, "is that the BEEF?"

I saw the article but figure I got the real story first hand via our leader.
Let's Play 36
GHIN Handicap: 7.8 … 9.2 … Let’s just say I am around a 14!

I flipped through the issue when it got here a couple weeks ago. Putrid garbage from cover to cover. Not even worth a cursory glance. A Skymall catalog is more entertaining and informative.

Re: Golf in NYC
Well you guys know the story enough, don't need me to tell you. Golf in NYC sucks and that is mostly what is offensive about the magazine--it paints this gayass rosy picture. It is a total bald-faced lie. Okay so if you are an asshole in NYC with a lot of money, the golf situation improves, but only very slightly. Even if you are a part of NYC high golf society, you are still golf poor. You are still spiritually bankrupt. You are rubbing elbows with literally some of the worst people on earth.MattF wrote:So sayeth the shepherd!legitimatebeef wrote:I flipped through the issue when it got here a couple weeks ago. I know that the magazine profiles some hedge fund guy who lives here and managed to do well in the US AM. But for the most part NYC is where you would move if, let's say, you wanted to kill your golf game.
