Here in the tri-state today we have balmy temps to go with our shitty wet weather. Hello swampy armpits.

The climate has fully broken me down now. I can't even say I am sad or disappointed by whatever shittiness comes our way now. Mostly numb. No longer hoping or expecting or even daydreaming about nice weather, for it doesn't exist even in my imagination anymore.

More snow forecast for this Saturday by the way.

It rained hard Saturday and then we had an ice storm/sleet Saturday night. The power went out around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. So in addition to being lousy weather for golf, I had to sit around in a dark cold house. Snow flurries currently flying around here this Monday morning and more rain and cold forecast for Tuesday/Wednesday. Lovely.

Not trying to be a drama queen, but it really does feel like spring--you know, the season--has been canceled.

Crap, another snow day Tuesday. Got around 1-2 inches. While the paved areas cleared by noon, there was still an inch covering our deck this morning and lots of snow on northern slopes and where the sun is blocked - not that we have seen the sun much, either. Another bout of rain/snow is coming this evening. Earliest I can get out is likely Friday when it looks like we might actually have a "warming" trend and see 50 degrees. I feel like I have lost a month of my golf life. :fkno

If I were still getting your weather, I think I would feel like I lost a month of my golf whole life. :thumbdown

It's so dead around here. Me and BK have the weather excuse. What's yours?

Okay, I am ready to let the "Winter Season Support Group" go for this year. Our weather appears to have turned the corner, although there is not a single leaf on any tree and not a single flower has bloomed other than crocus. Of course, just because we won't have snow or frozen variations of precipitation doesn't mean things are great here. The extended forecast says we will enjoy April Showers all week. At least I don't live in Gaylord, MI (a small city about 3 hours north). They still have a foot of snow on the ground. The Gaylord HS baseball coach was interviewed on the Weather Channel this morning. I would shoot myself if I lived in Gaylord. :puke

Screw that. I'm going to keep posting here in protest of the way things are, and have been. I don't even want to dignify the spring season by making a thread about it.

By the way in Vermont there is still snow on the mountains and not a single green leaf in the whole state. Not on the maples at least. As of yesterday every course and driving range I came across was closed. If you ever want to approximate the experience of being left behind in a Rapture-type scenario, come to Vermont! I should go work for their board of tourism.

I lived in Killington, Vermont in my early 20s for 3 years. Skied Memorial Day every year. Then I went back to CT for the summers and sailed (and played a little golf for fun, but mostly sailed).

Here in NYC, now that the temp has risen out of the 40s, people are carrying on like it's summer. Walking around in short sleeves, and yes, shorts. Winds are high, and constant lately, and really regardless of the mercury, it feels like low 50s most of the time.

Golfers are a kind of outdoorsmen and as such know how to read a weather report. Most of the ponces and airheads who live here in 2018 on the other hand are illiterate in that sense. Looking at these people walking around, underdressed and pretending to not be cold irritates and yet pleases me at the same time. Of my intolerance and sadism, I am not sure which trumps which.
