No but I've come close. I really think the two courses I played this weekend is where it can happen but everything needs to fall into place. Really thought I had a chance on Saturday and yesterday I was pretty confident I would pass the turn at even or better and I've been killing the back 9, so worst case it was going to be another strong score. Just have to keep telling myself if I can do it once I can do it again.

Played shitty on Saturday. The guys I was playing with were playing a money game and it just sucked, so I ended up with a 96.

Went back Sunday and fired an 84. Missed my first hole in one by 4". Fired the driver a new PB 295 yards and backed that up with a 238 yard 19° hybrid to pin high about 5 feet off the green on the front par 5.
Throw me another ball will ya!

Hey, you and I are on same track, Matt. I posted a 98 last week, but 85 yesterday. My hcp is about as low as it's ever been at 14.0 (next revision).

Getting out and playing regularly helps.

It certainly does. I'm sitting on a 16.2 down from a 16.7 on the last revision. Got a tee time for Friday morning too.

Shot an 88 today. 45/43. Had 3 or 4 blow up holes with 3 or 4 putts and penalties, but otherwise the swing is feeling good, despite my not playing ever. I'm getting distance on my tee shots again. I'm also chipping better though it's a whole new deal I'm doing now. I'm enjoying it! I think if I can take what I have now between my ears to the course and play/practice I'll be back on the way to playing closer to my potential.

Thanks, friend. Yeah - I'm in a long layoff... Had a great time the last two rounds (of my summer). Need to get out more on the course.

According to Shot by Shot so far this year I am a 13 driving handicap, 11 approach and 4 putting. Today's round: driving 4, approach 3, putting 22. 14 GIRs and 11 fairways but turned it into a +5 75 with four three putts and several missed 5 footers. Satisfying yet frustrating.

I hear you. Especially satisfying since the "long" game is much harder to play. Putting, that can usually be fixed without a lot of trouble. :thumbs

I turned back the clock yesterday. I have played Hudson Mills for 30+ years. Lately it seemed like I was miles shorter off the tee and always had to hit hybrids and fairway woods into many of the greens. Not yesterday. The course (and I) finally played like the old days. Yes, I choked badly coming down the stretch, but the final result was more than okay with me.

NOICE. @bkuehn1952 I'd put our average handicap up against that of any other golf messageboard community. Fuckin' A :heynow

I am going to put up some low scores of my own this coming fall and winter. I am guaranteeing it right here and now.

Great round BK!

Since my wife was out of town I did something stupid yesterday and 36. The reason it was stupid was +100 degree heat index. Rode in the morning, rested for two hours, changed some clothes, and walked in the afternoon. Both rounds were mediocre - 80 on a new harder course and 77 on my easier home course. Both rounds were headed for very good rounds when I fubarred a few easier shots late in the round. Still generally pleased that my "mediocre" rounds are getting better.

That is a very nice round @bkuehn1952. Imagine without the couple of doubles... [Yes, it can always be better, but I'd take that one every day, and twice on Sunday!] :claps :yess
I'm gonna go low this time...

Came close today - a +2 72 where everything was solid. One of my five best rounds. The disappointment was a three hole stretch where I gave up 3-4 shots. Really think I could easily have broken par. But not to be.

Two highlights: on the par 5 first hole I hit a perfect monster FW. Ended up two steps short of the green. Don't think I've ever been within 30 yards before. Then chipped to a few inches for birdie. The other highlight was chipping in general - 7 chips - 5 ended up with 2 feet and 3 of those were within 6 inches. I've chipped well before but today was special.

Nice rounds @bkuehn1952 and @GBOGEY. As for me, I bailed after 11 because play was so slow, the GPS in the others guys carts was projecting a 7:45pm finish...we teed off at 12:35.

Ugh I'd be so pissed. I was starting to get an itch to play but this post made that go away super quick.
