Grammys

Post by jfurr » Mon Feb 15, 2016 4:16 pm

I normally do not pay any attention to awards shows, but I'm watching.

In the Children's music category is my friend Molly who I've known for over 20 years.

And in the New Age category my friend Stefan is nominated for the work he did as a mastering engineer for an album. Stefan also did the mastering on my group's recording.

I just tuned in to the live stream and caught the New Age presentation, bummer his record didn't win. Oh well, an honor to be nominated.

Still waiting for Molly's category...

Ah that is why the hotels here in LA were all booked. I'm scared to know what this room set my company back? The only thing they could get on short notice was a penthouse (not as fancy as it sounds) at the LA downtown. I'm guessing it was at least $800 for the 2 nights.
Keep it short stupid.

That's cool when you know people that are up for awards, makes it far more interesting than otherwise. Sorry they didn't win, but like you said, Grammy Nomination is nothing to shake a stick at.

Fish, WTF you doing in L.A.? In the penthouse, no less? You get to tee it up at L.A.C.C. or Bel-Air ? Ballin' !
Bluto did it

Here for work.

The penthouse is just the penthouse floor with all of the business suites. Guess my company wants me to work from the hotel room. It's really not much extra other than an extra 50 sq feet with a desk and chairs. Still a nice hotel.

If I wasn't 12 hours behind schedule yesterday I would have went to play golf somewhere but it would have been somewhere reasonably cheap.

Looked it up for normal people it would be $350/night. Although given how many people come here through my work I'm sure they get a good discount.
