Ballyhack Golf Club

Post by MattF »

Today I leave for an event with another forum to Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, VA.

I'll detail the trip here when I get back, but I will not be posting until at least Sunday because I really won't have time.

This is the reason I got the SkyTrak ST+ sim/LM and why I'll be getting lessons from GolfTec.

Stay tuned...

Have fun and good luck. Pete Dye - prepare to be a little beaten up.

A lot beaten up. On the plus side, Matt is getting a lot of stuff and a golf experience.

I have joined the other forum and I think they revel too much in playing really difficult courses at long yardages.

The golf group Matt was in had two 4 person teams. Matt won all his matches, both singles and team matches. His partner in the team portion was an LET professional, Connie Chen. He should have some good stories when he gets home and decompresses.

It was a competition too? They really make you earn that so-called free shit.

I'm back and my head is still spinning.

Yes, we won the matches, I even went 4 and 3 in my singles match yesterday.

More to come during the week.

A few questions:

A. How long was Connie Chen? Comparable to you guys?

B. No trees in play at Ballyhack? What were the hazards? Sand? Long vegetation? Water? It looks like a “links style” course.

C. What is JP like? He is in his 60’s? He seemed to score better than a “9” but maybe he just is comfortable there.

D. It looked like you played the course much shorter than TPC. 6,300 - 6,400 yards or so. THP always talks about “carnage.” It looked like everyone played at a length that allowed one to score a bit better. True? Any reason(s) given for not using 6,700+ yards?

E. Is it a pain to always take photos of everything and post them?

F. Any of the group better or worse at Golf than you expected?
