Just ponied up some $$ for the Shotscope V2 GPS watch. They've got it for $90 off through MGS.

Nice. I've thought about that one too, but watch is likely too big for my slender girly wrist.

Thanks. Yeah, apparently it's "big", but most GPS watches are.

Scotty missed his first knee knocker. Then proceeded to make the next 2 along with putts of 10, 12, 12, and 20 feet the rest of the way. Going to stay in the bag.

So Taylormade has a promotion with Dick's which is buy a new driver (which one I'm not sure) and if Rory wins the PGA you get it for free. Seriously thinking about buying one right before the deadline and not using it. If he wins I keep it, if not I return it unscratched. Am I missing something?

I think this type of deal paid a few years back.

Sounds to me like they don't have much faith in Rory. They are probably safe.

I'm guessing they bought an insurance policy to cover their costs in case he actually wins. In the meantime, they get tons of great press for free and sell a lot more drivers. The cost of the insurance policy is likely quite expensive, but when you add up the PR benefits and new driver sales revenue, they still come out on top. I'm sure they aren't going to lose a penny, one way or the other, and their visibility will be high throughout the whole period.

Ha ha Rory. Have you guys seen that Golfnow commercial where Rory goes, "I just want the average golfer... to have a great experience!" or whatever. I always yell back at the tube. NO, YOU DON'T

I love my 4i but the rough is getting so thick now, I am having trouble getting it through squarely, even by swinging extra steeply. So I decided to pick up a small-headed Titleist 818H2 21* hybrid (w/Project X EvenFlow Blue stiff 85g shaft) to use in the 4i spot when the rough is this thick. I already play a 19* 818H1 (w/Tensei Blue stiff 73g shaft), but that is a touch more like a fairway wood than the H2, which is more like an iron. So, though the H1 gets through the rough in most cases, the smaller H2 head should be even a bit better. I'll tune it to 22* and will likely fill the 4 iron spot just fine. But, I'm gonna miss that AP3 4 iron, at least for a few months until the rough thins out.

I bought the H2 from a retailer that I have purchased from in the past, who is selling off a bunch of Titleist demos that literally look like they have never been hit. Virtually new. I got it on Ebay at auction for $106! It retails new for around $279. It is the most recent design. The next generation will not be released 'til next season.

Doug,

How do you like the EvenFlow Blue stiff? I got one for my driver, which I haven't gotten back yet, and am itching to try it out. I hit the Black at a demo day and it was the smoothest feeling shaft I've ever hit.

Only hit the Evenflow blue once and it was very noticeably smooth. Tried a friend's 818H1 hybrid which had a 6.0 stiff in it. I considered the 5.5 (R+), but couldn't find one to try. Since I already play Tensei Blue stiff in my other 818H (plus driver and 3W too), I figured I could handle the 6.0. Won't know for sure til next week when it arrives, but after trying my friend's, I am expecting to love it.

First time I have touched a golf club in over a month ( i think, feels like a year ) yesterday, I got fit at the Club Fix. Awesome experience, will share more later, but I just dropped the hammer on some new irons.

Replacing my 9 year old Taylormade R9s with some Callaway Rogues.

• Set Composition : 5-PW,AW
• Lie Angle : 2 Up (White)
• Custom Length : + 1 1/2 in
• Shaft Flex : X100 (Tour Stiff)
• Shaft Type : True Temper Dynamic Gold Steel (PTIP)

Found these last night, with the 130 gram shafts i need in them, i did have to get them lengthened, but I'll probably shell out for some C Taper 130s soon.

I'll put the rest in my fitting lessons post

I'm pissed. The retailer contacted me AFTER the club (Titleist 818H2 21* hybrid) was supposedly "on the way" and told me that he doesn't have that club to sell me anymore and had refunded my account. Evidently, he oversold it. He had a bunch of them listed on Ebay and sold more than he actually had. More than likely, he did not like the price I won the auction at and is making an excuse. Whatever the case, now I am NOT getting the 818H2 21* to compliment my 818H1 19* hybrid.

I'm looking at the bright side though. I just found out 2 days ago that Titleist is releasing their next new hybrid---the TS2/TS3 line---a few months earlier than expected, so I may get one of those sooner than I thought possible; maybe over the summer if the rumblings I have heard about possible release dates turn out to be true. Plus, I have been specifically practicing getting out of tough rough with my AP3 4i over the last few days and have developed a very good technique, which is usually resulting in better contact and better than expected distance from all but the most gnarly lies. So, I guess I can hang in for the summer with my 4 iron. I really like the 4i for fairway lies anyway. Even so, I was looking forward to playing that Project X EvenFlow Blue shaft in the H2. I may pick up an Even Flow shaft to try in my 19* 818H1 in place of the Tensei, just for shits and giggles. I love to tinker.

I'd be mad too, that sucks, but sounds like there is a silver lining, although you have to wait for it.

Jesus Christ. :facepalm Price Club Costco Kirkland Signature cabretta leather gloves now? I got some on the way. 3 for $15. This kind of pricing is obscene, like what you'd pay for knockoff crap on Canal St in Chinatown.

They kind of resemble those Titleist Playaz' Gloves, and Costco brand stuff is generally not crap, so why not sample a pack, is what I say. Can hardly afford not to.

They look pretty good, if you ask me. You did good trying them: as you say, how can you not? :up :clapping

Not for me though: I don't use gloves anymore and haven't for about 2 years now. Why pay for them, when you don't need them? Actually, what prompted me to try playing without is that my grip was a little too soft with a glove, with increasing grip pressure after the backswing, so I forced myself to grip a bit tighter from the the get go... without a glove. That did it, and my hands are no worse for the wear (or lack thereof)...
I'm gonna go low this time...

The Kirkland gloves, by all account, are actually pretty nice.

As for me, this beauty was dropped off by the UPS man yesterday.

I'm hoping it is @DougE. It's a square face too, which a lot of hybrids don't have.
