What's your take on The Leftovers? It's one of my all-time favorite shows, but it kind of flew under the radar with very limited viewership.

Has anyone seen Brockmire?
I got told about this show and pulled it up on hulu. The first episode is possibly the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a LONG time. My wife even enjoyed it.
Warning: it's not a family show

Re: ... about to put ______ in the video player
Just watched a delightful period movie called Florence Foster Jenkins starring the delightful Meryl Streep in a true story based on some heiress lady from circa WWII, who loved music and dedicated much of her life to advancing the musical arts but unfortunately kind of sucked at music, and didn't know it. The delightful Hugh Grant also stars. If you have any love for Meryl Streep you gotta watch this shit. She is so good at her craft, so effortless and lifelike, it is delightful to behold. Hugh Grant, not so bad himself. Generally I don't have much time for cinemas and shit but I'd say I am a fan of this chap, Hugh Grant. (About A Boy is one of my all-times.) The Howard Wolowitz guy from TV's Big Bang Theory falls flat trying to keep up with the two master thespians.
Build a bridge and get over it.

Re: ... Just put "Game Night" in the video player
I had very low expectations of this comedy and was surprised ... I liked it. Not a classic but really a pretty decent movie. The "other" couples and their dialogue while participating in the game night were particularly humorous.

I laughed enough times to make it worth seeing but not enough to make it worth seeing again.bkuehn1952 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 10:03 amI had very low expectations of this comedy and was surprised ... Thought Rachel McAdams was great in Game Night. And, I have always liked Jason Bateman's dry humor. He was great in the recent Netflix series, Ozark. Serious role for him in this one, but still had some great dry humorous lines, delivered as only Jason Bateman could. If you haven't seen the series, I'd recommend it. It's only two seasons long so a binge watch will catch you up fast.

Speaking of Netflix we just started the kimensky project (or something like that) with Michael Douglas. I really like it, it's pretty funny.
