HSBC Women's Champions Preview & Pairings

Post by tonyj5 » Mon Feb 29, 2016 9:49 pm

This week the LPGA moves to Singapore for the playing of the HSBC Women's Champions.

This tournament was won in 2015 by Inbee Park, who held off the charging Lydia Ko for a two stroke victory.

Coverage begins at 12am ET on TGC. What better way to wind down a long day than to doze off to some live LPGA action. It beats watching late night talk show crap. I always look forward to the coverage of these asian swing events. I imagine myself making popcorn and watching along deep into the night. The reality however is that I am usually out cold after the first few shots.

What type of shots?
I will stand in the fairway, I want to be out of your range.

It's the putts that are the real killer.

Hey Joe, you going to be offering your caddie services to the ladies? Or maybe a putting lesson with Big Ugly? ;)

I was using Big Ugly while playing with Julie Inkster In 1995 when we won the season ending LPGA Championship Pro Am at the old Desert Inn at Las Vegas. She thought it was hilarious and was a delight to play with. I still take Ugly out of the closet once in a while but it is a little too heavy for the greens I play in Arizona.

Juli Inkster can still net $30K just by beating in the brains of a bunch of over-the-hill no-name former pros at a couple rounds of golf? What a country.

Beef. Joanne Carner who is 76 years old shot even par on Saturday. She averaged 270 yards on her drives. Come down to Grandview and play from the same tees as the over the hill ladies and get a lesson in humility.
