@DougE :
It has been 2 months since we last heard from you. The many members of Legitimategolf would like some updates on:
a. Your job
b. Your health
c. Your golf game
d. Your recent trips outside of MD
e. Anything else that is very intrusive and personal
There was an ugly rumor going around that you had taken up pickleball. Please say that isn't true!

a. Still Manager of Golf Operations, The Club at P.B. Dye, Ijamsville, MD. Basically work most days. Play little golf.
b. Health acceptable, relatively speaking for my age. Still have shoulder issues which affect my full swing some, as well as arthritis everywhere, it seems. Something always hurts somewhere on my body when I play golf.
c. Surprisingly doing okay. Snuck out about 80 times this year, but the majority were only nine hole rounds. Maybe 20-25 were 18. A far cry from my years of membership at Worthington Manor, where 150-200 days was my norm. Just have no time these days. Work gets in the way. Did not keep up my handicap since I began playing somewhat more regularly again this year, but I'm probably playing like a 6 or 7 hdcp, I'd guess. On a good day at PB Dye (once ranked the 26th toughest course in the USA by
Golf Digest), I've shot a few rounds in the 70s from 6320 yrds this year, and had a bunch of 37s,8s and 9s on nine holers.
d. No trips. No time for that.
e. Too much to go into.
No time to take up pickleball even if I wanted to (which I don't).
I still check in here at LG daily. It's a time issue that keeps me quiet. If you ask me a question, I will always answer. If I don't, it means I'm probably dead.

Thanks for the updates. It appears to be true that people who work in the golf industry don't get to play.

No need to spy on me. I'm an open book. Come on out. I'll show you around and give you some tips on playing this godforsaken track. Then, I'll even get you out there for a round at a discounted "Friends and Family" (or even better) rate. My door is open. When should I expect you?
I think you'll enjoy the challenge. Really interested to see how you score here your first time out. You break 85 from the 6300 yd white tees (between April and November), and I'll buy you dinner in our restaurant. You'll deserve it. However, if we bet, I may have to wait until
after your first attempt before giving you those tips

.

Yeah Doug, I’ve played B DYE many times when living near there. I like it but it’s been years.
