I friggin hit my best drive of the day. Everybody (including me) thought I was going to blow the drive 40 yards right to the other course. Hit a decent lay up, and stuck my lob wedge to a foot and a half.

So, in the end, what'd it cost you in the bar? (Not counting my Stoli/Cranberry.)

Well, the course I was at is not allowed to serve alcohol until noon, and we were done at 10:30, so we came to Montgomery and had a $121 tab at Twin Peaks.

You got off cheaply. Sounds like luck was on your side not only for the ace (not that skill wasn't also involved), but for the fact that the bar at the course couldn't serve liquor 'til noon. It would have been a much bigger tab if it was full of golfers. No one knew at Twin Peaks. Or at least, no one there realized they were entitled to free drinks for your hole-in-one like knowledgeable golfers at the course would have known.

Just read an account of a Team Titleist player who had TWO aces in the same round last month. According to his interview on the Team Titleist site it cost him $950!

Here's the story from the golf course site.

It only took 1184 rounds to get an ace.

Followed it up with a 96 (other three guys shot 94, 94, and 98) on an away course where we should have played one tee up. (21.6 differential)
