Mickey D's Portugese Style

Post by bkuehn1952 » Thu Sep 27, 2018 7:15 am

I will admit to visiting a McDonalds about once a year. I am pretty used to the garish golden arches architecture, the plastic interior, and squad of high school and senior employees. So I was intrigued by this Portuguese McDonalds, along with a tour bus full of Asian tourists. We were all standing around snapping photos.

A common outside dining scene in Portugal ... but what's with the "M"?

Interesting. McDonald's persona does not seem to fit the architecturally-superior building within which it sits. I particularly like the eagle above the entrance, but the chandelier and stained glass are a bit over the top for a place known for a clown and good french fries.

Obviously, that building was there long before Mickey Ds showed up.

Nice. McD's is on my blacklist but I always enjoy seeing the regional variations. Seen some cute charming looking ones in Vermont. In Maine a lot of them sell lobster rolls.
Build a bridge and get over it.
