You could avoid the range, the people and the shitty balls using one instead.
It doesn't, as the kids these days say, hit the same way! That's a good point about balls though. Our range has about 50% of balls in sound condition, the rest are worn down smooth. I am really learning about the major importance of the dimples. Nowadays I sort them, chip and pitch with the smooth ones and save the dimples for full shots. And if someone leaves leftovers, I'll just pick out the best ones. It's ok, I guess. I still get high on the cheapness.

You are right though, I should expand my home practice and at least get into a habit of pitching and chipping into the net.

The perfect lie every time is not a good thing but for me it beats going to a crowded range.

Saw another barefoot bozo today. Actually it was quite the showcase out there on the range. A shit-showcase. Just all manner of suckage and shitty homebrewed methodology on display. Along with some of the most misguided misinformed chatter you will ever overhear. You want to see what is wrong with recreational golf in America today, just come to my lame ass range.

Today on the practice green some guy pulled up and started hitting putts left-handed and knock-kneed. Okay fine whatever. Then a few minutes later his apparent teenage son joins him on the green, and he starts putting left-handed and knock-kneed. Abuse!
